Few things can bring about the same sense of poetry and expression as a beautiful string texture. Strings elevate the emotion of a song… and that’s what this plug-in is all about! ujam is happy to count Hans Zimmer—one of the world’s great film composers—as one of its co-founders. Hans generously gave us access to his legendary string recordings, amassed over decades, for use in STRIIIINGS.
The Stringer contains top notch quality sample sets of the ARP Omni, the Logan String Melody II and the Welson Symphony in two engines that can be mixed and layered. The real devices | The real string machines that were sampled for this project are highly sought after and became rare and expensive on the used market. The Logan String Melody II was built 1978 in Italy and distributed in Germany by Hohner. It has a very middy fat and exciting sound. The ARP Omni II is the successor of the Omni I and the Solina. The Solina string sound was THE string sound of the seventies and eighties, used on every stage and record. The Welson Symphony is a very rare Italian made String machine. Morgana is an authentic representation of a vintage digital sampler, designed to be musical rather than accurate while simultaneously free from the clumsy interface or sub-megabyte RAM limitations plagued by old hardware. Morgana doesn’t try to boast the most impressive spec sheet, or the most transparent sound. By returning to a simpler architecture, Morgana actually transcends the limitations of typical software samplers, creating an experience that sounds and feels like an actual instrument–one that is inspiring and with a sound all its own. Morgana is also capable of sampling, either through its own inputs or through a technology entitled “SampLink” which effectively allows Morgana to sample from any track in a multitrack environment in a simple and no-hassle way.
