Darbuka is a VSTi plug-in featuring a complete Arabic and Middle Eastern percussion group with a surround stage and unrivalled real-time control over arrangement and sound. Darbuka is neither a sample library nor another product based on a standard sample player. These are real performances played by world-renowned percussionists Suat Borazan and Mohamed Zaki. Wizoo’s proprietary FlexGroove engine adds full real-time control over arrangement, performance, sound and integrated surround ambience. The integrated mixer includes independent EQ, punch, and ambience adjustment for each instrument. Place instruments freely in one of 15 different surround stages and play patterns, fills, solos, variations and mutes via MIDI keys. Pi is an innovative, multi-channel phase interactions mixer plug-in engine for Mac and PC. Pi works to improve the summing of a DAW or a mixer. Pi dynamically minimizes frequency cancellations between instruments within the mix, improves mono compatibility and brings back the lost depth and focus lost when overlapping frequencies collide. Good phase relationships between mixer tracks, are a key to great sounding mix. Normally, where mixer channels are summed into a single stereo mix bus, instruments overlap and interact with each-other across the frequency range and phase position. Often, a bass track could be temporarily out-of-phase with the kick or rhythm guitar tracks, and when summed into a mix, end up cancelling each-other over the overlapping frequency range, causing a temporary “hole” in the low end. Similarly, a snare track could end up sounding thin in a mix when the toms resonance are out of phase with the snare.

Mr. Sax T. employs an entirely new technology, developed by Stefano Lucato when it became clear that all the previously applied approaches simply could not do. The technical name is Synchronous Wave Triggering. It uses samples as a base material, chromatically performed by a professional sax player over a very wide dynamic range, and recorded with state-of-the-art technology. The resulting timbre is therefore that of the real instrument. But the analogy with a sample based library ends here. The underlying, proprietary technology allows continuous interpolation among different vectors like time, dynamics, pitch and formants.
