Filtomika is an effect plugin that emulates the wild filter section of the 1980s Soviet Polivoks synthesizer and is based on the expanded multi-mode filter introduced in award-winning Atomika virtual instrument. Featuring circuit-modeled DSP designs by the acclaimed developer Mark Barton, Filtomika also includes other methods from Atomika that go beyond the original hardware. 2445 is a reverb processor plug-in (VST, AAX and RTAS for Windows; AudioUnit, VST, AAX and RTAS for Mac OSX) inspired by two legendary early digital age reverberators: the EMT® 244 and the EMT® 245. SP thoroughly researched how to bring the specific features of those simple, yet very musical sounding reverbs to life as a plug-in. We then improved from the originals with a handy set of parameters to control details of the sound and mix the reverb not available in the original hardware. The 2445 is capable of processing using one selected engine or both of them simultaneously.

If I’ve got tracks that need more vibe, more color, and less of the fast, sharp transients digital is famous for, Omega Transformer plugins are my weapon of choice. Transformer plugins are extremely cool on their own, giving my VI’s, loops, and found sounds the character of carefully chosen, boutique analog circuits. When a Transformer is used on tracks recorded with the Omega Preamp, the effect is quite stunning: a dead-on replication of the original hardware’s sonic signature. This is not “sounds kinda like…” this is “sounds exactly like”. Transformer plugins are very simple to use — just turn the Intensity knob and a lovely, distinct flavor unfolds. The resulting Transformed tracks mix easier, sound sweeter, give EQ’s more mojo to extract, and feed compressors a rounder, punchier transient to play with. The result is, to my ears, a truly magical Transformation.
