This collection includes effects sampled from three sources. The ‘Time Tube’ unit passes audio through lengths of hose using speakers and pickups, to produce a delay of a few milliseconds, creating a Haas ‘doubling’ effect where the delay isn’t heard as a distinct echo, but instead blends with the dry signal in a way that thickens the sound. Some people love it for vocals. The delay actually comes from the amount of time it takes the sound to travel through the hose. It offers stereo and mono modes, which are different. I’ve sampled both. The other effects were sampled from two home stereo system units: the Pioneer SA60, and the Sansui SA-710. They were both designed to add ambience to the music you play on your system, using bucket brigade delay chips. The SA60 can do a really nice ‘duet’ effect, which is a short delay good for doubling, similar to the ‘Time Tube’ effect.
The most faithful emulation of a modern yet legendary tube compressor/limiter – perfect glue for mixing and mastering… An industry-standard tube compressor | Variable-bias tube compressors deliver smooth, transparent gain control, and naturally “glue” buses, mixes, and masters together. Unfortunately, the original hardware is expensive and difficult to integrate with in-the-box workflows. Software emulations exist, but most owners of the hardware agree that they cannot be compared to the original unit, as there’s always “something” missing. With its unique Topology Preservation Technology, Pulsar VM-COMP sounds objectively identical to the hardware in every production context, but also introduces improvements such as visual sidechain EQ editing and extended timing ranges.
Tube Saturator 2 is a super accurate circuit simulation of a tube pre-amp with analog EQ, which can be overdriven gently for warming effects, or cranked for fat distortion. Like its predecessor, Tube Saturator, TS-2 is based on circuit simulation techology to capture every nuance of an analog circuit. The circuit consisting of the individual tubes, resistors, and capacitors is converted into a mathematical system of equations which is numerically solved to produce the exact same sound as a real circuit. But while the original consumed large amounts of CPU power, TS-2 is now super efficient. The Saturation section of TS-2 runs about 7x faster than the original and yet the modelling is even more accurate. TS-2 includes the original circuit simulation of the three band Baxandall type EQ as found in many guitar amplifiers.
Maybe the best compressor for Vocals and Bass. With these IR’s we came so close to the real deal that we got scared :) This is our masterpiece so far. We also included a comparison between the vintage hardware and our IR’s in Demo 2! (First Hardware, Second our IR) In the Demo 3, we used a stock Ableton compressor plug-in with our LA2A IR’s and the result was amazing. You gotta hear it yourself!
