M-Phasis v1.5 For NEBULA

M-Phasis represents the end of a long-term projects (stalled by recent global events) in which I wanted to capture the bias and calibration circuits of my beloved “80” Swiss tape machine (which followed me over 2 moves), into a plug-in. The idea behind it is to have a clean, non-colored device that adds the exact calibration curves for the recording and playback heads, separately. In the recording head, the bias and HF dials are reproduced, and in the playback head, the re-balancing of LF and HF is available, as done on the real tape deck, in the original dials. One can use M-Phasis by itself or in conjunction with the many tape plug-ins available on the market. More often than not, a specific tape machine (especially Nebula programs) and its emulation sound fantastic but they are not exactly calibrated to our mix.

From mix-bus to parallel distortion, Neurontape 1972 is a must have plugin for those who want to saturate tracks, glue the mix together with natural analog signal compression or even analog distort. Experiment with different input/output levels to get to know what the circuit is really capable of.

P821 MDN Tape is based on Marc Daniel Nelson’s personal Stephens 821 2” tape machine Which was utilized at the Producer’s Workshop, renowned for producing iconic albums such as The Wall, Aja, Rumours, and others. The P821 signature sound is very open and has a large sonic character, as there is very little electronics and zero transformers in the tape machine, making the sound stage massive and no aggressive compression or clamping down. This is the first plugin of its type where you’re actually hearing TAPE and how it reacts. Now, hearing the P821 MDN Tape plugin recreates that same experience. It’s truly incredible and unlike anything else out there.
