A stereo plate reverb plug-in capable of a rich variety of effects, with intuitive controls and efficient use of CPU and system resources. The RVB500 plug-in algorithmically emulates a mechanical plate reverb, still regarded as a mainstay of many recording studios, for a diverse range of effects including drum enhancement or vocal ambience – while complementing more complex or resource intensive convolution models. Economical with system resources, the RVB500 is ideal for classic reverb effects while still leaving sufficient power available for the most complex audio workstation projects. Volume six contains 204 original drum breaks created using brushes. The tempos range from 85 to 100 bpm, and were specifically selected to represent the boom bap genre. Each break is provided as a pre-vinyl master and a vinyl-pressed version. Recorded directly onto analogue tape using three microphones, a close mic on the kick drum, a close mic on the snare and an overhead mic. Mixed using analogue compressors and eq’s before being sent to a Neumann cutting lathe.

It’s  an effects processor  from the mid-1980’s  that included  several reverb  algorithms that  are  still  prized  today:  Stereo  Room,  Room Reverb, and High Density Plate. Princeton Digital has recreated these reverbs in  the Reverb 2016 hardware unit, and these same sounds  are available as vstplugins.
