This months samples cover two huge genres, one in terms of its influence and one for the speed at which it is spreading. First up is the fast developing genre of Dubstep, currently big in the UK and making its way across the globe. The second is Kraftwerk, although not really a genre they as an act certainly spawned a few and this months sample collection should have exactly that effect. Our Retro collection this month is a classic Broken Beat collection split into easy to use Kits.

The sample library “Belarus” features a new and interesting upright piano sound. Most of those pianos were popular not only by being cheap and accesible, but also as being easy to detune and not so ‘beautiful’, compared to a Steinway piano. Still we captured the sound of a typical “Belarus” right after tuning (and as you can see tuning is not perfect because the instrument is quite old) – you can use it in soundtracks, pop music and experimental electronica. There is only one mic position, a mixture of 4 mics that were places as close to the strings as possible. It has 6 dynamic layers and 1 round-robin.

I started creating this little gem a good while back , then stopped for a bit because of other projects in need of completion. As I searched the web one day , I seen a nice little IO app that just kicked ass called Tascam PortaStudio !! And there it was , in all its glory ….. my little 4-track writing tool from the 80’s !! So then, I decided to complete my Tascam PortaStudio Build for All us Kontakt users to have some fun with. Ive made this little build to be a multi track wave sample player for many combinations , such as drum samples or synth samples you would like to blend together , with total ease !
