Create Sophisticated Patterns with No Musical Theory Training Necessary. With Kinetic, you get the entire string section (solos or chamber) in one instrument (Violins, Violas, Cellos and Basses). You get a separate timeline for each section. Each timeline contains 64 note or rest events and can be divided into up to 4 “regions”. And you can have each timeline play a different pattern, section or articulation when you hold down a single note or chord! Choose from 40 fun-to-play pattern presets. And if you really want to get wild, you can choose any of the presets for each section separately. That means you could have the violins playing one preset, the violas play another, the cellos play yet another, and the basses play event another… ALL AT THE SAME TIME! And of course, any or all of these patterns can be edited. An echo chamber is a reverberant real space, which is used to add reverb (not distinct ‘echoes’) to any audio signal. This is done by playing the signal into the space through a speaker, and picking up the audio from that space with at least one microphone. The speaker/mic are usually arranged such that very little signal can travel directly between them, with the sound waves having to bounce off of the walls (becoming diffuse) at least once before reaching the mic(s). In other words, mostly just the reverberation of the space itself is captured. This new, reverb heavy aka “wet” signal can then be mixed back in with the original dry audio to taste.

GSi ECHO B2 is the digital recreation of a particular unit of Binson Echorec B2 mod. T5E from 1965. This unit, despite being so old, still has its original tubes and has had very little service in the last 30 years. We don’t know how this unit sounded when it was new, but this is how it sounds today, in 2022. It has to be said that the Echorec B2, despite being less famous than its big brother the Echorec 2, shares with it the same magnetic drum, the same magnetic heads, same mechanism and pretty much the same circuitry, practically the same sound in a more compact unit. There are several sources of information about vintage Echorecs, this is the Echorec Bible. The plugin features all controls found on the original unit, plus 4 extra knobs for adjusting the alignment of each head (aka Azimuth on tape machines), one extra knob to slow down the drum motor up to half the normal speed (to obtain doubled delay times) and one last knob to adjust the level of audible circuit hiss.

Crowd Chamber is an audio plug-in that layers multiple variations of a signal to create a crowd simulation. From simple chorusing effects, small crowds and stadiums, on to impossible situations and effects. When each voice is mixed, it is altered in varying time and spectral content, making unique versions of itself to create the illusion of different sources. With the additional spread function it can stretch out a single voice, which gives additional depth and complexity to the result. Once the concept had been created it became clear that Crowd Chamber could create far more than simple crowd scenes. Because of the feedback, wave cancellations, and simply the thousands of layers make it the perfect tool for creating strange and twisted effects. Crowd Chamber also follows QuikQuak’s other plug-ins with a visual, hands on approach. There is also a fast randomisation feature for rapid crowd creation.
