LIMINAL: CHAMBER STRING TEXTURES VOLUME 1, a library of intimately recorded Violin, Viola and Cello samples – playable using the full version of Kontakt 6.6.1+. The library’s articulations are aleatoric, long and evolving, with the performer imparting character and movement into each sample. Recorded closely and dry, the sounds are great for adding unpredictable nuance, detail and creative imperfection. This library is not intended for fast passages or soaring melodies. It is especially suited as a collection of naturalistic pads, perfect for underscoring or ethereal soundscapes. The user-interface allows articulations to be layered, mixed and reversed. LFO controls can be enabled, allowing your DAW’s tempo to dictate the modulation of an individual layer’s volume. This opens the door for tempo-synced swells and unleashes even more creative possibilities for evolving texture.

Crowd Chamber is an audio plug-in that layers multiple variations of a signal to create a crowd simulation. From simple chorusing effects, small crowds and stadiums, on to impossible situations and effects. When each voice is mixed, it is altered in varying time and spectral content, making unique versions of itself to create the illusion of different sources. With the additional spread function it can stretch out a single voice, which gives additional depth and complexity to the result. Once the concept had been created it became clear that Crowd Chamber could create far more than simple crowd scenes. Because of the feedback, wave cancellations, and simply the thousands of layers make it the perfect tool for creating strange and twisted effects. Crowd Chamber also follows QuikQuak’s other plug-ins with a visual, hands on approach. There is also a fast randomisation feature for rapid crowd creation.

Chamber Strings is a highly detailed and flexible chamber string library (6,5,3,3,1) recorded by expert recording engineer. A range of exciting and revolutionary techniques for recording longs, as well as freshly conceived scripting concepts allowed the natural dynamic movements of the musicians to be maintained, while remaining playable and intuitive. Windmill Lane is a uniquely wonderful scoring stage, used on many orchestral, film and TV projects. Utilising the dryness of the room, Light and Sound libraries feature multiple mic positions with natural air absorption. In line with the Light and Sound philosophy which celebrates maximum flexibility, the sound can be shaped more freely than with samples recorded in a more ambient environment. To recreate the natural bleed of a real recording environment, the close mics of all sections were left open and set at their natural panning and levels while recording each instrument section. The “Bleeds” mic adds a unique and realistic flavour to mockups and compositions.
