When I first heard the Proteus/1 I was blown away by its internal demo song. The strings sounded so real to me, one could hear the rosin on the bow and the friction of it on the strings of the violins. One of the peculiar things about the Proteus is the fact that many patches seem to emulate Roland D-50 patches, but not Korg M1 patches.. Both instruments were the instruments “to beat” at the time. I wonder why the programmers only focused on the D-50 and didn’t give the M1 sounds a shot.

Cycles & Spots with 400 vintage sounding loops for you, 200 with a vinyl flavor and 200 with tape machine characteristics. These are divided into 300 harmonical and 100 beat loops. Naturally this content is superb for Hip Hop productions and the samples can be huge for experimental and Ambient works as well. The demo is making use of the beat loops, you can imagine the value of the harmonic content without them though as tape machine loops are often of an experimental nature by default.

Cycles & Spots created 300 Wav loops with a 1980s video player character, having that typical gritty analog sound to them with all its (desirable) imperfections. Tape wobble, saturation and background noises are implemented sometimes more and other times less in these loops to let you insert a little time travel into your tracks. Naturally synths and drum machines of that era were used. This pack can be useful for Synthwave, VaporWave, Hip Hop, Ambient and also for modern styles to add a bit of spice to your productions.
