For decades, the concept of pop music was synonymous with Trident Studios, the pioneering facility in the heart of London’s Soho district. Their client list reads like a who’s who of pop: The Beatles, Elton John, David Bowie, the Bee Gees, Genesis, Frank Zappa, Joe Cocker, Kiss, Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Marc Almond, Soft Cell, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Tina Turner, T-Rex, and Yes. At the heart of the studio’s sound was the Trident A Range console. It became so well known for its gorgeous, musical EQ and the full, rich tone it imparted soon, studios around the world were placing orders for an A Range of their own. Although only 13 were ever made, they created a legacy that continues to this day.

Loved by the engineers and technicians at Abbey Road, and incorporated into their iconic REDD mixing consoles, the V76 coveted for that “White Album” sound, every major studio in the world wanted a piece of the action, and tens of thousands of Telefunken preamps were created to meet the demand. These days, due to scarcity and cost, it’s practically impossible for most musicians and producers to pick up one of these legendary preamps. In the same way Arturia built its reputation on recreating legendary, rare synths and keyboards through advanced modelling, we decided to use our TAE® technology to give everyone the chance to experience that legendary V76 sound.

Delay MEMORY-BRIGADE is love letter to the legendary BBD – or “bucket brigade device” – that created a revolution in time-based modulation effects. During the 70s, more and more audio effects turned to the compact, reliable BBD technology to create chorus and flange effects, but it really shined in creating an iconic, filtered lo-fi delay sound that’s still loved by musicians and music lovers to this day. One of the first, and certainly the greatest BBD delays was the Memory Man, and the slightly redesigned Deluxe Memory Man created by effects pioneers Electro-Harmonix in the mid-70s. Guitarists and record engineers loved its unique sound: a dark, filtered bark that was worlds apart from traditional tape delays. We based the Delay MEMORY-BRIGADE on this legendary pedal, so you can enjoy its driven feedback and “rusty” tone in your own productions.

Crowd Chamber is an audio plug-in that layers multiple variations of a signal to create a crowd simulation. From simple chorusing effects, small crowds and stadiums, on to impossible situations and effects. When each voice is mixed, it is altered in varying time and spectral content, making unique versions of itself to create the illusion of different sources. With the additional spread function it can stretch out a single voice, which gives additional depth and complexity to the result. Once the concept had been created it became clear that Crowd Chamber could create far more than simple crowd scenes. Because of the feedback, wave cancellations, and simply the thousands of layers make it the perfect tool for creating strange and twisted effects. Crowd Chamber also follows QuikQuak’s other plug-ins with a visual, hands on approach. There is also a fast randomisation feature for rapid crowd creation.
