    How To Make Timelapse TUTORiAL

    SYNTHiC4TE | Nov 12 2018 | 2.54 GB

New course, and this time they’re showing us how to make their new atmospheric, synth-laden track – Timelapse. Once again, show us that keeping things simple can still have the ability to create awesome emotive soundscapes, and Timelapse, with it’s ever-shifting and phasing percussive elements along with a driving bassline and arpeggiated synth line is no exception. Over these twelve videos and a relatively short two and half hours, we start on a completely blank canvas, firstly building the kick and bass before adding the all-important arp and building up the groove with percussive elements. As we move into the arrangement of the track we continue adding more atmospheric synth effects, pads, and basslines before structuring the breakdown and main section, tweaking, automating and fine-tuning as we go, to get that distinctive sci-fi soundtrack-like end result.

Whether you’re making a downbeat, chill-out masterpiece or simply looking for your own background ambience or atmosphere to add warmth to your track, WNTER shows us the tools to make entirely new sounds yourself from simple one shot samples or even originally unwanted noise from a recording. A truly creative and inspiration set of tips that’ll help you step away from simply choosing a preset or dropping in a pre-recorded loop, and make your own set of original patches instead.

    Understanding Loudness & Metering

    SYNTHiC4TE | Nov 12 2018 | 1.55 GB

We’ve all heard of the ‘Loudness Wars’ that can be traced back to the introduction of the compact disc, pushing the digital limit with the belief that customers preferred louder-sounding CDs. In today’s world, however, producers are faced with restrictions placed on their music by different online platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, Tidal etc. Over these 12 videos, Kirk looks at de-mystifying some of the terminology used, shedding light on what they mean, how different levels are calculated and demonstrates some of the tools on offer to help get our tracks to optimum levels without being affected by online platform restrictions. Using real-world examples you’ll not only get to grips with acronyms such as LUFS, PLR, RMS and K-Metering but after watching this detailed course, you’ll also be armed with the knowledge and tools to make sure your track is getting played and heard the way you intended.
