THE SIXTIES EBX A POP POWERHOUSE.

Bass, presets and MIDI – tailored for that classic 1960s vintage sound. This expansion for EZbass sets out to capture one of the most iconic and defining epochs in popular music history: the sixties. It includes the vibe, the sound and the very bass model whose characteristically tubby, dark and earthy thud played a leading role in its soundtrack. Arguably, no other instrument paints a more vividly compelling image of an era come and gone than this – sonically and visually. The bass was strung with classic flatwound strings and captured using two distinctly different playing styles, one using the finger and one palm muted using a pick. This gives you two contrasting takes on the same instrument and a tonal range covering the entire width from the traditionally thud-like to the sharp and zingy. In addition to the bass, this EBX also includes a wealth of presets for a wide range of tones as well as a custom library of MIDI basslines tailored for the instrument and the era in question.

‘Vintage Drums’ includes 5 iconic kits including Sixties, Motown, Disco, Bonzo and Memphis kits. This pack is the perfect tool to add an old-school vibe to your production. Inspired by classic recording techniques such as using a Coles 4038 in a hallway for the Bonzo kit and adding tape slap to the Sixties kit using a Otari MX5050; you’ll find a distinct character in each and every kit. All the kits have also been tracked using a purely analogue signal chain.

Sprung out of post-war optimism, the ’60s wasn’t only a time of liberty and individuality, it was in many ways a defining decade for culture and music. From both sides of the Atlantic, bands and artists garnered success that shook values to the core and set off a pop explosion that had an aftershock lasting to this day. This is the inspiration base for the Sixties Pop EZkeys MIDI pack. Think the Monkees, Beach Boys, the Beatles, Roy Orbison and many, many more and you’ll hear it.
