Consider some of the great analog synthesizers of the 1980’s: Roland Jupiter 8, Rhodes Chroma, Elka Synthex, Crumar* Bit One. Well, That last one may not appear on everyone’s list, but for the dwindling number of people who own a Crumar* Bit synth, almost all agree that the sound that comes out of this beast is first class – somewhere between an OB-X and a Synthex; bright & punchy but also rich & eerie Unfortunately, there are a few down sides to this machine – reliability, poor midi spec, missing features and an awkward programming interface are generally the most common grievances. MNX have cast those issues aside with the release of our Bit-100 software emulation of the original Bit One, which combines all of the punchy sound, plus the unique features of the Bit One (such as velocity control of pulse width), with all of the advantages of a software implementation. We’re not aware of any other synth which implements DCOs in quite the same way as the Crumar Bit range. In my opinion, they sound superb. Fortunately, they appear to lend themselves to digital emulation quite well. The Oscillators are complex though, and when combined with our highly refined V2 filter and envelope stages, the result can be heavy CPU usage. Please note that unison mode and oscillator LFO modulation will increase CPU usage considerably, as will long VCA envelope release times

Djent. Thall. Elite. Djenthuggah Drums might be small in file size and articulations but it packs all the power to cut through any dense modern metal mix. This Kumu Birch Custom kit likes to be played loud and in fact it sounds so good loud, we actually left out all the ghost notes and medium hits. This is metal, not jazz. The kit was inspired by the modern metal heavyweights such as Meshuggah, Periphery, Animals As Leaders, & Born Of Osiris to name a few.
Maul is a multi-band distortion and tone-shaping plug-in with advanced modulation. It is suited to all music requiring powerful sound-sculpting abilities – everything from subtle warming and loudness generation to shredding distortion and experimental creative effects. Maul features 3 separate drive stages, each of which can act on a different frequency range with any of 32 distortion types. The available algorithms include DCAM-modelled germanium diode, tube and transistor-based circuits, clippers, overdrives, waveshapers of various kinds and bit-crushing devices for digital distortion flavours. Each drive stage also features control over transient-shaping, saturation circuitry and additional post-process tone filtering.
Tremor: a software drum machine with powerful synthesis, effects, modulation and step-sequencing. DCAM circuit-modelled sound generation is fused with new ideas to produce original sounds with the punch and extreme sound pressure of old-school analogue. Tremor’s dance drums, funky beatscapes, abstract machines and undiscovered sonic terrain are suited to all kinds of electronic, urban and experimental music. Central to each of Tremor’s 8 synthesis engines is a specialized DCAM oscillator with harmonic partials akin to a drumskin’s modes of vibration. Mixed with a sub-oscillator and tuned noise source, the signal is sculpted by modelled drive/filter/FX sections and razor-sharp envelopes. Tremor’s diverse output includes classic kicks, snares and claps, organic hats and body-shaking subs alongside futuristic zaps, scrapes, textures and sounds that defy classification.
