Mark 73 Electric Piano was sampled from a 1976 Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano. The entire keyboard was wrapped in tinfoil, which virtually eliminated EMI noise. The piano was sampled DI through a Radial Pro 48 DI box, and the signal was routed to a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp, recorded relatively clean through an AEA R84 Ribbon Mic and AEA TRP Preamp. Each note of the 73 note of the Rhodes Piano was sampled 3 times at 10 velocity layers. Releases where sampled for the DI signal as well as the amped signal, but the amp release notes sounded a bit out of place, so the decision was made to only include DI releases. The sound of the amp can be heard in the amp samples, as a Fender Reverb Deluxe is a noisy amp, even without a signal. The DI samples are relatively clean by comparison.

BXO9 offers a range of hand made craft sounds that have that realistic organic sound to them so when you are playing, you can hear and feel the vibrations, sparking those creative juices. With BXO9 you can select one sound, so for example I have selected a string sound from the strings category, I can now utilize the layer channels to sculpt and layer the selected sound into something completely different. The layer-able layers offer percussive elements with great play ability and harmonic values. These 4 layers consist of metallic, wooden, glass, and hit like textures that allow the user to sculpt a new sound from the selected sound. Even the 808s come with 4 layer-able 808’s that you can layer over the selected 808. I am confident you will enjoy using the BXO9 and use it time and time again. Ephemere is a percussion synthesizer that includes twelve sound generation engines assigned to each note of an octave. The sounds are generated using FM synthesis and can be further sculpted using a multi mode filter and two simple yet flexible envelope generators. Ephemere makes it easy to add variety to your rhythmic patterns by attaching a randomization setting to most of the synthesis parameters as well as a trigger probability per sound. By keeping the synthesis engine simple yet powerful and providing extensive randomization options, Ephemere is an invaluable tool to very quickly design custom synthetic percussion sounds.
