Polyphonic semi-modular virtual analog synthesizer with built-in pattern sequencer and a filter based on the classic music composer 202 Imagine a 303 on steroids – that’s what we created with Semi Modular X (ASM1X). Collaborating with our friend AlphaDog, we enhanced the mock-up with additional features like patch cables and polyphony. The result is a truly unique and versatile instrument. Although ASM1X has its roots in sequenced synth sounds, it stands out for its exceptional pads and leads, making it a hidden gem for producers. One thing is for sure – nothing else can replicate the distinctive sound of ASM1X. The heart of ASM1X is its 202 filter, known for its self-oscillating resonance, precise tuning, and wide frequency range spanning from sub-bass to beyond the upper limit of human hearing. This filter has a powerful voice that can truly captivate. Most of the modules in ASM1X support control voltage (CV), allowing real-time signal path modifications without any audio glitches. The sequencer features CV Gate/Note output and is compatible with playing ASM1X in Note mode, monophonically, or polyphonically.

At the time of this publication, there does not exist another instrument that can let you play FOUR string sections (violins, violas, cellos and basses) at the SAME TIME. But wit Kinetic, you get the entire string section in one instrument. That means you get a separate timeline for each section. Each timeline contains 64 note or rest events and can be divided into up to 4 “regions”. And you can have each timeline play a different pattern whether you hold down a single note or chord! Choose from 30 fun-to-play presets. And if you really want to get wild, you can choose the any of the same 30 presets for each section separately. That means you could have the violins playing the “Superman” preset, the violas play the “Terminator” preset, the cellos play the “Xmen” preset, and the basses play the “Cap. America” preset ALL AT THE SAME TIME! And of course, any or all of these patterns can be edited…
