We can’t leave our Sinclair ZX Spectrum alone. Not only can it do awesome drums (see SpecDrum 2000) and print rude messages about your mates on shiny thermal paper, it can also do RO-BOT VOI-CES! That’s right, we got ourselves a Currah MicroSpeech attachment for the Speccie. This little black plastic box of tricks did for voice synthesis what the SpecDrum did for drum sampling: that is, slotted it right into the back of your home computer. Once the MicroSpeech was installed, every key press you made on the Spectrum’s boingy rubber keys was announced through your TV speaker in glorious, robotic monotone. RUN. EN-TER. SPACE. BREAK. B-B-B-B-BREAK. Being in charge of a talking Spectrum is the next best thing to piloting the Starship Enterprise. Probably.

SYNTHS DX is a collection of inspiring sounds for creating subtle cinematic atmospheres, deep, wide sci-fi pads for film, videogame,ambient and synthwave music production. With its 60+ instrument presets you get a palette of colors for your next track. All samples are recorded key-to-key in 24 bit 48kHz. We captured these sounds with analog gear and by applying the minimum
software post-production process to keep these patches rich and fresh. This boutique library contains 9 analog and pcm synth gears such as DAVE SMITH OB6, MOOG MINITAUR, MOOG SUB 37, NOVATION X STATION, NORD LEAD 2, OBERHEIM MATRIX 6, OBERHEIM MATRIX 1000, ROLAND SUPER JV & YAMAHA DX7. We recorded and designed these synths in Budapest and Los Angeles during the summer of 2018.

MELT is a fascinating instrument that allows you to create highly complex sounds, ambiances and textures in an extremely easy way. You are able to blend between 4 of MELT’s beautifully varied and inspiring sound sources and thus create unique, interesting and inspiring sounds. MELT´s sound sources come from different areas, which are named Pure, Floating, Organic, Field Recording and Granular. In summary it is a complex arsenal of sounds and sources which provides on the one hand numerous sounds and instruments of our own library such as organs, synths, e-pianos, pads and resampled sounds of the legendary downbeat box and on the other hand specially processed sounds, field recordings and finally sounds created by granular synthesis and freeze functions. This collection is already unique, but in the mixture among each other it results in highly complex, novel and interesting sound structures.

Using Superball friction mallets, we sampled a variety of Orchestral Bass Drums, Timpani, Taiko, Thunder Sheet and Gongs to create a library of evolving sonic textures.. Superball is a rare type of mallet with a rubber ball end, which is used by percussionists to create a unique waling drone-like sound. It is performed by dragging the rubber head of the mallet along a surface, creating friction, which produces a wave of unusual and unique sonic textures that vary depending on the size of the Superball, type of percussion and technique. Superball is a non-transient sound that open-endedly shapes and transforms as the motion, pressure and intensity of dragging of the mallet continues.

Electric pianos are just the coolest things: whether it’s the bark of a Wurli or the soulful drive of a suitcase Rhodes, we just love our EPs, and there’s hardly a musical genre out there in which they haven’t played a key part (ha… no pun intended.) But as usual, the ones that come built-in to most DAWs are a little on the polite side. We’ve decided to fix that. Prototype EP Kontakt instrument 2Prototype EP is a painstakingly sampled Weltmeister Claviset. Or at least, it may be. That part’s a little unclear.
