Use these files to add the library to your Kontakt library tab. Copy both files in the root folder of your library and simply add the library using Kontakt menu.
We used to spend so much time wrestling with noise and hum and interference when trying to record our tunes that winning this battle with audio crud was almost as much an art form as making the music! Then we got to hear our recorded efforts on vinyl and had to contend with scratches and rumble and crackles … or tape hiss on cassettes. Now we are lucky that for the most part, a lot of those headaches are a thing of the past. But are we really lucky? In our endless quest for perfect recordings, maybe they are now too clean, too sterile, too ‘hygenic’ if you like. Well now you can introduce the crud back into your creations with Hollow Sun’s unique ‘Interference Generator’….
Sometimes, you just can’t have enough noise. For special effects, sound design, atmos, drum and percussion sounds, sweeps, etc., noise is such an invaluable tool.
Sadly, these days, noise is something of an afterthought on many synths with just one paltry selection and with today’s software based synths generating it digitally, it’s just not the same as true analogue noise, it’s pseudo-random noise based on mathematical True analogue noise is created using a zener diode which is biased into breakdown to produce truly random noise. Another method is to use a transistor wired so that its emitter-base junction is reverse biased which does much the same as a zener diode.

Welcome to Plucked Grand Piano – a library dedicated to deep sampling of plucked and hammer struck grand piano strings. The Plucked Grand Piano was created by public demand from our users, since its never been properly deep sampled before. We took a world class piano (same as Emotional Piano) through a humiliating process by recording every string with a custom pick, but with more emphasis on round robin (4 pr. string), since the playing style has a percussive quality to it. The instrument is best described as a hybrid crossbreed between a harp, clavinet, guitar/lute and the unforgettable sound of the harpsichord. In addition we added a bonus hammer-struck articulation, using a custom miniature hammer. The sound has some resemblance to a hammered dulcimer. The fancy naming and branding of the piano is irrelevant to us. We want the samples and music to speak for itself and we hope it speaks to you too.
