    Soniccouture Kim EXS24 KONTAKT

    05.18.2007 | DYNAMiCS | 1 CD | RAR SIZE 353 MB

    FORMAT….: EXS24/KONTAKT

The Kim is a type of dulcimer or zither from Thailand, and is related to the Chinese yangqin. Sometimes spelled khim, the instrument consists of a flat soundbox with 42 wire strings stretched across in 14 sets of 3. The courses are struck with two thin bamboo mallets with soft leather tips. The Kim is not a very loud instrument, and is typically played with a lot of tremolo. As there is no damping mechanism, the strings ring to their natural decay, and this gives an eerie resonance to the background of a Kim performance. The Kim is used in both solo and ensemble situations. The Kim was sampled at 24 bit /44.1 and contains 137 seperate unlooped samples. Each note was sampled individually with up to 5 velocity layers, twice, to give an extremely natural, expressive response. This extremely unusual instrument can add an atmospheric edge to all kinds of production, from film scoring to ambient soundscaping to folk.

    SonicCouture Gu Zheng KONTAKT DVD

    SUNiSO | Gu Zheng | 05.2009 | KONTAKT | DVD | 1,19 GB

The Guzheng is a traditional Chinese instrument dating from the Qin dynasty (c. 200 BC to the rest of us). It is the ancestor of the Japanese Koto as well as several other zither-like instruments found across east Asia. The SC Guzheng has been extensively recorded in 24 bit 44.1khz stereo. Three articulations were sampled: right hand (finger picks), left hand (flesh), and harmonics (finger picks). Up to ten velocity levels, three round robin alternations for the right hand, and two round robin alternations for the left hand. This ensures natural attack transients with no ‘machine-gun’ repetition.

    Street Bukit KONTAKT

    TEAM MAGNETRiXX | 04 January 2014 | 1.4 GB

The Street Bukit is a deep collection of classic DIY (“Do-It-Yourself”) drumkit sounds that are found in improvised urban street performers’ drum kits. Common to cities around the world, you’ll often find street drummers playing an ecclectic variety of large and small plastic buckets, pots, pans and other scrap and found objects arranged into a rough sort of drum kit. They play with marching or rock drum sticks, jazz brushes, mallets and hands, with specialized technique for producing kick drum sounds – they left the edge of a large bucket with the side of their feet and them stomp or drop it back down in different ways to produce unique lo-fi “bass drum” sounds. As raw a concept as this might seem, skilled street bucket drummers can be profoundly virtuosic, with complex, highly nuanced rhythms, grooves and cadences ranging from drum corps to break-beat to drum n’ bass to industrial and tribal.
