Few strange psychedelic patches. I will definitely create something similar in the future, just larger and better. Names of the patches are made of slovak words for some kind of insect, flowers and animals :)
In this release release of 3.1 GB (lossless compressed from over 6GB of raw WAV files) from over 3800 samples – synthesisers featured include classic Juno 60, JX3P, MS10, ProOne, SEM, and a Moog. With a useful selection of classic/ vintage, modern, broad and room microphones, the Producer Portfolio features the talents of legendary musicians, producers, composers and programmers. With Spitfire’s existing orchestral and definitive ranges, we’re very proud of the “impression” that the hall at Air studios gives, but it’s not right for every application. With this new range, we have recorded in smaller spaces, close, mid range and room perspectives with carefully positioned, fine, ‘A class’ mics and pres to give you the raw materials you need to make these sounds your own.
A selection of sounds that give you the effect of well worn mallet instruments but without their associated stereotypes. Not quite glockenspiels, not quite celestes. This library will add an inticing magic to your music. First out of the traps is an extensive library of Metalware; 2.2 GB compressed data from over 6.3GB in WAV format and over 3100 samples. With up to 3 dynamic layers and 5 round robins per instrument, including a variety of easily switchable beaters and techniques, including finger nail flicks and slaps.
We recorded the sound that different metallic items produce when you hit them. (Mainly with a small wrench) 22 monolith nki files, each nki contains 14 samples. That’s a total of 308 unique samples.
Progressive Clavi D6 is two sets of samples from the classic Clavinet, sampled as usual to worn tape on 60s valve equipment, to emulate the characteristics of the Mellotron. There are over 40 patches each for ESX24 and Kontakt 4.2.2 – the intent of this pack is to explore new sonic possibilities from the Clavinet. Compatible with NNXT and Structure but no patches available. Progressive Clavi D6 can emulate bass, distorted guitar as well as gentler stringed instruments, and works really well for early 70s jazz/prog style electric piano (soft machine etc). Responds nicely to distortion and wah, and due to the valve/tape source of the samples. It also sounds great played through a valve amp – perfect for live. The developer has used an extreme azimuth setting on the tape heads, creating a more ‘damaged’ and brittle sound. The artifact flecks enable bite on low settings with the clarity of the instrument retained.
Actually, Spotlight Strings started out as “Solo Strings 3” back in 2008. I was experimenting with Kontakt’s LFO abilities to simulate string vibrato. This was due to the fact that I wanted to be able to have the user manipulate vibrato in any way so as to suit his or her needs. At that time, it seemed there was really no way to realistically alter vibrato speed, intensity or fade-in time in real time by merely using samples and crossfading. So LFO manipulation seemed to be the solution. And also at that time, it seemed to me that there was just no convincing way to simulate a good string player’s vibrato using Kontatk’s LFO’s back then. It was ok, but not good enough.
Designed to perform a million tasks, in a millions different shapes and sizes, the incandescent lightbulb illuminated human existence and enabled the world to finally and truly find its way out of the dark. Over the generations, this old filament-syle lightbulb and the various offspring have served humanity well. Indeed, the very concept of a brilliant idea is most often signified by this single iconic image. However, as populations have explode and resources ever diminish, that brilliance is becoming a luxury we’re no longer able to afford. The grave inefficiencies of Edison’s incandescent bulb have at long last forced us to move toward Tesla’s far superior fluorescent design, with its vastly longer life and lower energy consumption, heat output and fire danger. Yes, the incandescent puts out warmer, more pleasing light than most current fluorescents. But at what cost? Just like their vacuum tube cousins, as beautifully as they perform, these too will soon be a rare anachronism sought by the purist, but long forgotten by the masses.
