Artefacts, Noise and Electric Character
FIELD was created through an extended exploration of invisible signals. Over the course of several months, we captured a wide range of electronic and electromagnetic sources using geophones, Soma Ether, contact microphones, telephone receivers and other unconventional recording methods. The result was a large collection of raw, highly characteristic sound material — shaped by interference, radiation, artefacts, noise and unfamiliar waveforms. From this archive, the most distinctive sounds were carefully selected and shaped into a playable instrument. At its core, FIELD offers three independent slots, allowing different sound sources to be combined and balanced. Each slot can be adjusted in pitch, octave and volume, opening a wide spectrum between subtle tension, unstable tonal presence and dense electrical textures. Additional controls such as distortion, bitcrushing, filtering, reverb and envelope shaping allow further refinement, while preserving the original character of the sources. FIELD is defined by transformation, by invisible energy, by signal and disruption. It is versatile, yet never neutral — artefacts, noise and a distinctly electric character are always part of its sound.
