Devine Machine software company has updated its Frame Synthesis based instrument Krishna Synth to version 1.5. Frame Synthesis is and exclusive technology from Devine Machine that let you analyse a sound sample to obtain a special movie file that Krishna Synth will use as an oscillator. This process, the tools provided and the modulation possibilities can create sonic textures that you won’t get from any other synthesis. A full set of graphic tools let you edit that file frame per frame. Classical analogue oscillators and filters as well as a complete FX chain are also provided to enhance possibilities.

Dirty Harry is an unashamedly DIY Lo-Fi Synth based on the samples of my two homemade, lofi noisemakers, the Atari Punk Console and the BugBrand WOM dirty harry offers 20 unique waveforms in all their mono/monophonic glory. For extra grit the oscillators can be syncüfd or ring modulated. Fidelity can be lowered further still with reduction in sample quality, distortion and a unique üebad contactüf emulation. 2 tempo sync LFOs allow modulation of filter, pitch and contact, with one LFO modulating the depth and frequency of the other. There are envelopes for volume, pitch and filter, with different contours and pitch options. Throw in an arpeggiator, pitch drift and portamento and you can see that whilst it may be lofi in sound, it doesnüft lack for sound design feaures.

QB3 is a vintage-style, 3-band EQ plug-in, with its own unique colouring and a few tricks up its sleeve. For each band you can adjust the centre frequency and gain. For the low and high shelving bands you can adjust the steepness of the slope, whilst for the mid peaking band you can adjust the bandwidth. This allows a range of sounds from steep, sharp cuts to smooth and gentle boosts.
