VCL-4 is a faithful emulation of the silver face revision of the op-amp-based successor of THE classic late 60s opto leveler. It provides you with unintrusive to extreme program dependent and musical opto compression. The switchable ratio option makes for a flexible solution over a wide range of source material. During the modeling process Fuse Audio Labs rebuilt the entire original circuit on strip board, however replacing the original opto-cells that were made up of an LED and an photoresistor with suitable Vactrols. Every part of the circuit including the receiver stage, the side-chain and Vactrol LED driver circuit, the Vactrol itself as well as the push-pull driver stage and the output transformer has been accurately modeled.

Bucket-500 is an authentic emulation of a bucket brigade (BBD) based analog delay circuit, added some convenient features in the digital domain including a tilt filter in the feed­back path, a stereo cross-feed option and an optional delay clock LFO to al­low for flanging effects. They also extended the original delay time range to 10..1000ms and included a host tempo sync facil­ity. It’s possible to switch between insert and send mode.

TCS-68, an audio effect that pays homage to one of the most iconic cassette tape based 8-track recorders. The TCS-68 cassette tape channel effect includes a faithful recreation of the preamp, the tape system and the EQ. The original unit comprised a powerful 10-channel mixer that included a simple 3-band EQ, mic and line inputs as well as insert loops for each channel, an 8-track recorder with an advanced noise reduction system and a clearly arranged meter bridge. Given that it used compact cassettes as a recording medium it’s obvious that it was far from high fidelity sounding and thus aimed at semiprofessional users and smaller studios.

The F-59 comprises a faithful emulation of both preamplifier channels, the legendary tone stack network as well as the power amplifier including the revision A presence filter feedback circuit. A cabinet simulation and a linear level control have been added to meet the demands of ITB work flow. The cabinet stage can be bypassed for use with your preferred IR or cabinet emulation suite.

Bitspeek is a real-time pitch-excited linear prediction codec effect. Right now you are probably thinking, “oh, another one of those”? Or perhaps not. Chances are that you have never heard about “linear prediction”, although most of us use it daily when we talk on our cell phones. Linear prediction coding is a voice compression technology that appeared in commercial products in the seventies and was implemented in some well-known speaking toys of the early eighties. We have applied this technology to create a VST / AU effect plug-in that analyzes audio, extracts a number of parameters (including pitch, volume and formant data) and then resynthesizes the audio using a simple oscillator, noise and filter architecture. We have added a number of playback parameters that adjusts the pitch and tonal quality of the sound as well as support for MIDI and a beat-synchronized “formant freezing effect”. Despite having only a few simple controls, this box can produce a broad range of sounds from cheap speaking toys to high-end vocoder and talkbox effects.
