DNX-03 is a three-band stereo Compressor (win vst plugin) inspired by the analog models, with some added features such as noise reduction and wide stereo control for each individual freq-band. The DNX-03 is able to split the incoming signal into three frequency-bands using a 6dB per octave crossover. First-order filters are considered by many audiophiles to be ideal for crossovers. Each band is passed through a compressor and then through a stereo processor where compression, gain and stereo image can be altered and improved. The outputs of the compressors and processors are then re-combined and fed to the master output.
The Vocoder was invented by Homer Dudley in the mid-30’s of the last century. Dudley worked at Bell Laboratories, and this is where the first Vocoder took shape. The basic function of a Vocoder is characterized by an analysis of the input signal, usually speech but other type of inputs can also be very interesting. In a special filter bank, a spectral analysis is performed and signals are developed which follows the amount of spectral energy in each channel. Another part of the analyzer tests if there are unvoiced or voiced sounds at any particular time and extracts the pitch of the voiced sounds. The output section of the vocoder consists of a stereophonic synthesis filter bank which assembles the new synthetic speech from the characteristic filter envelopes from the analysis stage together with an external or internal replacement signal.
Ambient, magical, dark, and arcane – SCENE contains 150 presets for immersive atmospheres and evolving soundscapes. Sequenced, multitimbral, and complex, expect sounds that are as suited to avant-garde scoring as they are to off-kilter electronic music and SFX creation. Each is equipped with clever macro mapping for sound sculpting within a single patch. RUSH: 150 peak-time presets built for serious, melodic front-left fun. Low-end patches cover everything from aggressive EDM and acid, to IDM and bass music. Distinctive and tweakable leads take care of melody, and clever Performer programming makes for dancefloor-ready sounds that’ll make you move. Rush is all about euphoric melodies, building tension, and high-octane atmosphere.
Ephemere is a percussion synthesizer that includes twelve sound generation engines assigned to each note of an octave. The sounds are generated using FM synthesis and can be further sculpted using a multi mode filter and two simple yet flexible envelope generators. Ephemere makes it easy to add variety to your rhythmic patterns by attaching a randomization setting to most of the synthesis parameters as well as a trigger probability per sound. By keeping the synthesis engine simple yet powerful and providing extensive randomization options, Ephemere is an invaluable tool to very quickly design custom synthetic percussion sounds.
PHASIS offers timeless phasing sounds – adding movement, soul, and creative magic to any signal. PHASIS draws inspiration from classic phasers but adds powerful new features for never-heard-before results. For example, the Spread control changes the spacing of the phaser’s notches, for vocal-style effects. Ultra mode pushes modulation to ultra high rates, producing unique FM-esque tones. Though offering a lush, analog-inspired sound, reminiscent of some of the finest rackmount and pedal-housed phaser effects, PHASIS’ unique Spread control allows wah-wah and formant-style filtering effects, but with a highly distinct sonic flavour. Spread adjusts the density of peaks and notches in the spectrum, and whether set to a single value, controlled live or with automation, or flipped with the Invert button, Spread provides a fresh take on both phasing and vowel-filtering.
CHORAL takes sonic inspiration from some of the most prized chorus effects of the last 40 years – including iconic rack-mount and synth-based ‘unison’ effects. Add width, movement, sheen, and shimmer to any signal, or take advantage of an all-new feedback mode, Scatter. It avoids the unpleasant metallic quality of heavy feedback settings in traditional designs, instead creating an entirely new reverb-like effect. CHORAL has four sound modes, each with a distinct character. The unifying factor of all the classics that inspired CHORAL is that they featured little, if any, customization options. On, Off, and Type, were typically the only controls. CHORAL, on the other hand, offers many custom parameters. The number of chorus voices can be set progressively from one to three, the sync rate can be manually altered, as can the modulation rate, amount, mix, delay time, stereo width, and feedback (the latter offering an entirely new routing option, called Scatter).
