1959 is based on the Electro-Acoustic Piano patent (lifetime expired) registered in 1959. We brought it to life using spectral modeling. Sound can be described as a CP80-like but a bit more tuned due to the fewer number of strings. THE EXPERIENCE OF RECREATING A FORGOTTEN ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC PIANO PATENT. Does it sound like the original one? We don’t know, because it has never been built. And we won’t build it (by the moment:) But the experience of bringing to life an instrument that never existed, was super-exciting. The resulting sound of this virtual instrument is warm, clean and bright. The expressiveness of the piano action we emulated gives it a nice and wide range of timbres. From warm lows to metallic shines on higher velocities.

You select on of the eight layers of PHENOME and load any Soundfont you have into it. From there you choose the patch you want (and bank). The award winning PS-1 Performance Synthesizer is the result of an exciting collaboration between ProSounds and DASH Signature and has been designed with the advanced sound designer and electronic musician in mind, incorporating a large number of high-end features while still maintaining ease of use with its intuitive user interface. The PS-1 is a VST instrument plugin (VSTi) for Windows featuring four multi featured oscillators, custom WAV file import (with over 80 waveforms included!), a mixer, 2 resonant multimode filters (routable in both serial and parallel), two Low Frequency Oscillators (LFOs) and two ADSR envelope generators. The PS-1 also includes some advanced performance features, such as a powerful arpeggiator and trancegate, as well as an effects unit. Sylfid-f1 is a string instrument based on Syflex’s powerful physical modeling technology. Although similar to a piano (strings, hammer, damper), the goal is not to model an existing instrument, but to create a new one. Thanks to Syflex’s fast simulation technology, the string vibrations can be computed in real-time. Sylfid doesn’t use any samples: everything is computed on the fly. This gives the freedom to change any parameter of the model, allowing to tune the instrument in many different ways, and to produce a wide variety of different sounds. For instance, it is possible to change the material the strings are made of, from plastic to metal, or adjust the shape and hardness of the hammer along with its position on the strings. All these properties can be modified on a per string basis.

Sylfid-f2 is a new physical modeling string plug-in that models a musical instrument that has two strings per note. It doesn’t use any samples: everything is computed using a fast simulation algorithm. It computes the propagation of waves on the strings, and converts them to sounds in real time. This allows creation of sounds that exhibit real-life properties like long decays, without any samples, no loops and no reverb. The material of the strings can be changed continuously from metal to plastic. The plug-in is based on the same technology as Sylfid-f1, but is less complex to tune. For example the strings material cannot be changed on a per string basis and the hammer position is fixed.
