David’s 2bus takes inspiration from David Gnozzi’s famous 2bus processing. David is well known for his analog collection and the skills to use it and over the years he developed a quite muscular chain of analog pieces that he found worked the best in a specific combination and with specific settings. We developed the plugin by capturing his chain and removed the guesswork by giving the user a very friendly interface with a few key controls that do a lot of things under the hood. The processor was ear-tuned by our team and David himself. David’s 2Bus is a combination of tape saturation, transformers and different stereo effects all in one.
Phoenix II is an update of Crane Song’s suite of TDM plug-ins designed to emulate the unique properties of a magnetic tape machine. Phoenix II runs both NATIVE and DSP on Avid’s AAX format. Beta now available with additional AU and VST3 formats! Phoenix II uses 32 bit floating point math and has a lower noise floor than the original release. Designer Dave Hill has crafted this software with the same attention to detail he used to create the electronics for ATR Service’s much heralded “Aria” discrete tape recorders. His intimate knowledge of analog electronics, as well as decades of experience as a recording engineer has spawned a very useful, musical suite of plug-ins. The Phoenix II process not only incorporates the nonlinear saturation characteristics created by magnetic tape itself, but also includes the interrelation of an analog tape recorder’s record/reproduce electronics and equalization curves. Phoenix II is a ground-up application derived from HEDD technology, and specifically engineered and optimized for Avid’s AAX architecture.
Contains All Plugins from Strymon.
The legendary VOX Continental organ is faithfully recreated in software as the VOX Super Continental! Originally conceived in the early 1960s as a more portable and affordable alternative to tonewheel organs, the VOX Continental’s distinctive sound – and its sharp red-and-black design – soon made it a staple of “British Invasion” bands. The Continental’s bright timbre and brash attitude fit perfectly with jangly guitars, and easily cut through the mix on stage and in the studio. Production stopped around 1970, but a new generation of ska, garage, punk, and new wave bands adopted the instruments in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Weathered and worn through decades of use, and none-too-stable to begin with, the instruments tend to be charmingly out of tune. As the key contacts aged, each note started to sound slightly different. With this unique voice, a combination of electric tone and vintage character, the Vox Continental is a fixture of stage and studio – particularly in indie music.
