The APU Dynamics Optimizer is a dynamics optimization tool designed to support modern loudness types (LUFS, True Peak). Underneath the hood, the optimizer uses the same compression engine as the APU Loudness Compressor, but benefits from the full audio waveform instead of real-time measurements. This allows the gain envelope to be meticulously optimized across the entire waveform. The design of this tool allows you to very precisely target a specific average LUFS and dynamic range. Once the gain envelope has been optimized, you can playback the result in real-time while adjusting the character of the sound with the same collection of parameters from the compressor plug-in.

The APU Loudness Compressor plug-in is a compressor/expander designed to support modern loudness types (LUFS, True Peak). Typical compressors operate using only RMS and/or Peak units of measurement. But technology has come a long way since then and we’re overdue for an upgrade.. This compressor uses modern industry standard LUFS units of measurement to provide a far more transparent response which is connected to the way humans actually experience loudness. The entire signal flow of the compressor operates within this more precise understanding of loudness. The plug-in user interface provides a more flexible alternative to traditional threshold-and-ratio style of compressor controls. Real-time equal-loudness Contour Shaping

APU Loudness Contour is a real-time equal-loudness filter that offers precise control over a wide range of perceptual loudness contours, including ISO 226 (2003 & 2023), Fletcher-Munson, K-weighting, A/C-weighting, ECMA-418, and ITU-R 468. Each contour is normalized to 0 dB at 1 kHz and includes a dedicated contour weight parameter, allowing you to scale the frequency response in both positive and negative directions. A weight of 0% results in a flat response, while negative weights invert the contour. ISO 226 and Fletcher-Munson curves support variable reference levels from 20 dB SPL to 120 dB SPL, with smooth interpolation between phon curves.
