Applied Acoustics Systems has released Lounge Lizard EP-4, a major new version of the electric piano plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows. Lounge Lizard EP-4 ships with a new streamlined interface, a new equalizer and compressor module, a new multi-effect processor, brings native 64-bit operation on Mac OS X and more. The factory library has been redesigned with more than 200 presets boasting the sought-after classic electric pianos as well as a great selection of custom pianos taking full advantage of the effects. “Since its first release more than 10 years ago, Lounge Lizard has always been a favourite among top keyboard players and producers both for live playing and studio work. This is not only because it sounds great but also because it has the feel of a true instrument,” says Marc-Pierre Verge, CEO of Applied Acoustics Systems, “The new Lounge Lizard EP-4 goes even further in terms of faithfulness and sonic possibilities resulting in a piano that is more inspiring and fun to play than ever.”
Stage – a plugin that uses trailblazing stereo-spatial processing methods to take good mixes and masters, and make them great. And The Stage Is Set! Simply put, stage is here to give your mixes that final shine and depth you’ve heard on countless records, drawing out an inherent character you might not have even known your sounds possessed. By leveraging subtle delays, internal phase augmentation and modulation techniques, you can now effortlessly emphasize the natural depth and space of any natural recording or synthesized element. The result is an increase in overall definition and perceived size – all elusive qualities that in the end contribute to a type of sonic weight that will quickly become indispensable to your audio toolkit. And just how is this possible? Under stage’s hood are mighty psychoacoustic algorithms that power the innovative panning and stereo alteration controls, giving engineers, sound designers, and electronic musicians the ability to sculpt their stereo image with minimal effort and maximum precision. Arrange your tracks from left to right, front to back or even diagonally if you like; enhance the ambience of your masters or go for wildly modulated effects. stage can do it all!
BMS is a bass management system AAX, AudioUnit and VST plugin for professional surround sound applications. BMS is able to extract and manipulate low-frequency content of non-LFE channels in up to 7.1 surround configurations. The main purpose of BMS is to simplify evaluation of low-frequency content present in non-LFE channels during mastering. At the same time, it is possible to mix extracted low-frequency content to the LFE (“Low Frequency Effects”) channel. An option to remove the extracted signal from non-LFE channels is also available. In BMS you can specify a desired frequency of the crossover filter, and adjust its steepness.
Toxic 3 is the successor of the award-winning Toxic 2 synthesizer. One of the warmest, crisp, and clear Frequency Modulation engines around, it owes its sound to the precise calculation of the digital signal. Due to high-resolution DSP processing, it produces sounds with an extremely low noise threshold – something that most FM engines cannot offer. The Toxic 3 also includes superior analog-modeling techniques in the filter section. Powerful effects such as EQ, a Distortion unit and two Chorus/Flanger/Delay sections, complete this excellent generator. The user interface is easy to comprehend and allows instant access to all relevant parameters. An additional tool is the built-in sequencer. It offers a total of 64 steps, which can be divided into two independent, 32 step modules to allow double-polyphonic patterns. With its “Smart Sequencer” technology, when a chord is played, the module defines that chord, and tunes the pattern accordingly. The sequencer also allows for pure playback of the programmed sequence from single notes.
After months of research and tweaks this reverb, based on the first digital reverb machine (the EMT-250). The EMT-250 is known for the very sweet character of its reverb and is used on a lot of famous recordings. It is the favorite reverb for a lot of award winning engineers. Real EMT-250’s are rare and other solutions for obtaining similar results were expensive or unnecessarily complex – until now! With the release of EMpTy 250 this ear candy becomes affordable for each studio and engineer!. EMpTy 250 is not yet another reverb plugin. The character of its sound is unique and sets it apart from other reverb plugins or dedicated hardware reverbs. EMpTy 250 is now available as a VST plugin and is also available as a patch for the Eventide® H8000 and H7500. The plugin can be used in any DAW software supporting Steinberg®’s VST-format, like for example Nuendo, Cubase, Adobe Audition, Reaper, VSThost etc. and does not need any internal DSP card, external box or dongle or special drivers to function. A demo version, which is fully functional and looks identical to the full version, but inserts noise into the output signal every 15 seconds, is available for evaluation of the reverb. A 5.1 version has also been planned.
