Building on the success of Tureis for Kontakt, I’ve now recreated Tureis for the free Soundbox player. Tureis is an Instrument close to my heart, featuring three deeply evocative presets perfect for creating emotional ambient soundscapes. I created Tureis using our beloved Yamaha U1 upright felt piano, an instrument that has been part of our family for many years. Renowned for its rich, resonant sound and impeccable craftsmanship, the Yamaha U1 is a favorite among pianists for its expressive, warm tonal quality and responsive touch. Situated in the middle of our lounge, it’s always ready to be played, filling our home with music and memories. To capture the essence of Tureis, I recorded single notes and phrases with two microphones positioned just 15cm above the hammers, with the felt pedal engaged. I then set about recording the intimate, warm sounds that make this piano so special.
