Daniel is the founder of Mute Records, probably the most famous record label involved in electronic music, and home to the likes of Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp. He also makes music (e.g. The Normal’s classic ‘Warm Leatherette’), and has his own radio show.
For nearly 60 years the bright tones of the Fender Stratocaster have been the go-to electric guitar sound for thousands of guitarists. In a guitar-filled first for Reason 6, Jiggery-Pokery now presents a stunning, keyswitch-enabled Stratocaster sample set – Performance Stratocaster ReFill. Has been sampled in pristine 24-bit, to sit right alongside the Studio Combo range. Performance Stratocaster ReFill showcases a 1994 Fender Stratocaster, featuring a two-piece alder body, maple headstock with rosewood fretboard and a single-coil pick-up, for an original Strat sound. Every note of every fret was recorded at a bit depth and samplerate of 88.2khz with a direct low-noise mic-level input and then downsampled to 44.1khz.
‘Rhythmic Foley’ brings a unique selection of live recorded “found sounds” that can be used in all genres of music such as Cinematic, Ambient, Downtempo, House, World and more! All sounds were recorded at 192kHz and 24-Bit to deliver the epitome of sonic quality’ The Sound Designer for this product, Sebastian Bach, is intrigued and inspired by the rhythmical vibe of everyday-use items. He decided to capture the sounds of house-hold items, such as washing machines, cutlery, coffee makers, pots, cups, nuts, bolts and more. The live recordings of these items have been creatively twisted, mangled and edited in ways that allow them to be useable Loops and One-Shots for any genre. The gear used for recording this product was a Tascam recorder and stereo-pair of Rode microphones. While listening to the samples, you can hear different recording techniques that combine sounds in mono by the recorder and the stereo field captured by Rode microphones.

ReBirth RB-338 was Propellerhead Software’s second product, released in 1997. ReBirth recreated the classic sounds of the Roland TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines together with a couple of TB-303 Bass Line synths in a neatly designed package. ReBirth RB-338 was one of the first software products on the market that successfully emulated real hardware and quickly became very popular. Somewhere along the line, some technically driven ReBirth user(s) discovered that it was possible to customize the graphic “skin” of the application, and also replace the samples in the two drum sections. This information quickly spread amongst users and in turn spawned a ReBirth community dedicated to creating and trading “ReBirth Mods”, with customized sample sets and panel graphics. Propellerheads wholeheartedly sanctioned this activity and even developed the ModPacker utility to help users develop their own Mods. Certain selected Mods were also included with the program, and still more Mods were available for download.
