The “Pacific Design” library contains Acustica Audio Nebula preamp/console style gain stage coloration programs based on the A Designs Pacifica stereo preamp. Measurement data was acquired via Prism Orpheus conversion, Vovox cables, Avedis Audio adapters, Rothwell attenuators, and the Creative Audio Labs MW1 Studio Tool.
The solo strings from ‘PACIFIC – Classical Symphonic Orchestra‘ Pacific – Solo Strings consists of a solo violin and solo cello with core articulations recorded in standard 1st-chair positions. The library was created as an addendum to Pacific – Ensemble Strings and thus recorded in the same space as the rest of the Pacific orchestral project, allowing blending with the rest of the sections. There was also the addition of a new mic position on this release: the section mic which is somewhere between the far/AB and close but strongly biasing towards close. There are some familiar articulations in this library like the marcatos which were sampled in the same way as the marcatos on Pacific – Ensemble Strings. As well as the shorts which were rep-sampled as usual. There’s also a new articulation – motion tremolos – which was conceptualized on Voyage sessions. It’s technically measured but loosely played and super fast and it allows a bit more in the way of back and forth medium-to-fast lines, almost interval-esque without being a legato patch specifically. It has (limited) RR functionality.
In our continuing Roots series we document an area of the globe thats rich in rhythm and yet unexplored by sample CDs. Pahu heiau (temple drum), pahu hula (dance drum), kaeke (bamboo pipe drum), ipu (bottle gourd), Iliili (small stone castanets), pupu (shells), puili (split bamboo sticks), uliuli (feather covered gourd rattles), kalaau (wooden sticks), chants and samples of olelo (various Hawaiian words) and actual location recordings of gentle Maui waves, a bamboo forest running stream on a rainy night, and the sound of paradise- birds, bees & the natural ambience of Ulupalakua, one of earths prettiest locations. A complete island paradise on CD!
