With 49GB of data and over 80 kit-pieces offering huge timbral variety, BFD London Sessions also provides a wide range of mixing options. The legendary room at AIR’s Lyndhurst Hall is captured by 2 pairs of room mics including a mid/side set capable of anything from true mono to richly expanded stereo. The mixing flexibility is further enhanced by 3 direct snare mics and far room mics packed with character and a huge sense of space. The Neve console’s AIR Montserrat preamps and Prism converters are used throughout, resulting in a warm yet defined sound. A huge range of rock sounds are made possible by the room mics while the punchy direct mics and silky overheads are suitable for all kinds of music from funk and jazz to pop, country and much more.

SampleX brings you accurately modeled vintage sampler emulation. Dial-in the sample rate, bit rate, aliasing, input drive and filter settings to sound like any sampler, or design your own! Multiple sampler emulation presets already included. In today’s advanced age of music tools that seek the “cleanest”, most “perfect” sounds, there has suddenly been a desire for the “Gritty” sounds of the machines of the past. Once such quest has been the acquisition of old, primitive samplers and sample drum machines like the EMU SP1200, AKAI s900/950, and others. This has increased the rate of these machines to 10s of thousands of dollars. The sound that producers and artists seek in these boxes is usually the low bit rates and sample rates resulting in an “aliased” sound or “artifacts” as we now call them. These limitations of the vintage machines have now become very desired and sought after sound. Just sample rate reduction and “Bit crushers” have yet to actually sound like old machines.

BMS is a bass management system AAX, AudioUnit and VST plugin for professional surround sound applications. BMS is able to extract and manipulate low-frequency content of non-LFE channels in up to 7.1 surround configurations. The main purpose of BMS is to simplify evaluation of low-frequency content present in non-LFE channels during mastering. At the same time, it is possible to mix extracted low-frequency content to the LFE (“Low Frequency Effects”) channel. An option to remove the extracted signal from non-LFE channels is also available. In BMS you can specify a desired frequency of the crossover filter, and adjust its steepness.

Slap Bass v1.1 WiN MAC

Slap Bass was sampled from a Fender Jazz electric bass guitar with Carvin J99 pickups and DR Hi-Beam bass strings directly into a Radial Pro48 DI Box. An extended range was obtained by tuning the E-string all the way down to a C. The low B (B0) of a standard 5-string bass was omitted do to “floppiness” from down-tuning. “Slap” and “pop” articulations were carefully and meticulously recorded for each note, although in the extreme upper range of the bass, do to tension of the string, normal notes starts to become indistinguishable from a pop articulations. Regular notes were recorded with a guitar pick, in order to maintain a semi-percussive and metallic sound.
