A fun and handy flute tapping Kontakt instrument.

It was interesting to see how a tuned percussive instrument made out of the taps of flute pads against the holes would work. The result is a highly playable and unique percussive instrument for Kontakt V4.2 or above. I multi-sampled taps recorded from the flute’s mouthpiece. The mod wheel switches between the over blown flute and the tapping. A dedicated set of convolution reverbs can be selected by dragging on the reverb select text on the custom interface, plus a knob so you can dial in the amount of reverb desired into the mix.

Percussion Hits, which features orchestral drums hits intended for film and TV scoring or game soundtracks. Percussion Hits comes in a package of WAV files and as a Kontakt instrument. This library allows drag and drop use in a DAW, or a keyboard and MIDI control with the Kontakt interface. The collection contains different attack profiles, such as single hits, long and short crescendos, appoggiature groups of notes, or reverse effects that are mixed with rolls to offer rich and modern textures. Echorhode Adagio 3 – featuring the a different Rhodes set ,sampled through a Dynacord Echocord Super tape delay. Can be used in conjunction with microtape 8. With 5 token presets, this isn’t designed as a synth, like Tronto for example, but as a player, with a virtual tape machine running all the time beneath the engine. You have 3 types of control (via the ‘Degrader’) over tape damage – via filter,amplitude or pitch, with a tape speed slider as well, so Boards of Canada style sounds are easily obtainable, or you can set the controls to zero to bypass the effect. There is a simple low pass filter (no resonance) that can be connected to velocity (as can amplitude) for instrumental expression, but also more interestingly is hard wired to the ADSR envelopes, so a slower attack also brings about a slower filter attack (if engaged), to emulate the tape head coming into contact with the tape (likewise with the release).

This ambient pad, drone and soundscape library was cultivated from some rather strange Christmas caroling odds and ends we dug up, cooked up, warped and manipulated. This odd little sound set was originally just one part of a strange collection of quasi-musical oddities mostly captured in one epic recording session somewhere around Thanksgiving in ’09 involving lots of Belgian beer and a few of our closest friends. These morphable custom ambiences were created by heavily, heavily, heavily manipulating a tiny, tiny slice of a certain old Christmas masterpiece, performed by an unknown genius. Like a precious and rare unstable element, only the smallest quantity is needed to unleash the true raw power contained within. Christmas power.
