REP-10 emulates a variety of digital piano types inspired by mid 1980s to mid 1990s electric and acoustic pianos. The main sample engine of the instrument are the magnificent FM electric pianos sampled from Yamaha TG77. There is also a large amount of other pcm pianos (e.g. acoustic, electric and synthetic) blended with the FM pianos, synth strings or pads; all layered together to create expressive and rich sounding multi set-ups.
The Rhythmalist is a three-mallets FM Reaktor built with an arpeggiator and a “squelchy” filter effect just to fit in a kind of Ethnic/Ambient music environment.
I have always had a bit of a soft spot for evocative cinematic synth strings and especially pseudo realistic string ensembles. Probably as a result I’ve almost subconsciously amassed (and sometimes restored) a small collection of historically important string synths over the years and found to my delight that they blend and layer very nicely with one another. These include my 1938 Novachord, arguably the world’s first polyphonic string synthesizer, the 1972 Eminent 310 Unique which features an early incarnation of the Solina Strings and its direct relative, the ARP Omni. I have also been playing with a number of discrete methods to generate exponential sawtooths, passive tube buffered L/C formant resonators, analog chorus circuits and tube processing. The way most of these early polyphonic instruments worked was very different from the later voltage controlled synths and they very much have a tone and texture of their own. The triple parallel analog BBD based chorus stages with multiple free-running LFOs on the Eminent 310 and Solina alone are significantly more lush and complex than the single stage chorus sections found on later synths. The Bosque Piano is a very old upright piano we discovered in a 100 year old college auditorium found in Bosque County Texas. Both the space itself and the piano had such amazing tones it was just begging to be sampled, so we did. This library contains multisampled longs, multisampled shorts (hard and soft) and a slew of cinematic phrases and accents which ooze scores from the late 1960s and 1970s by composers such as Jerry Goldsmith and David Shire. To keep things as lightweight as possible within your DAW the instrument has a very small footprint and only contains the four patches listed above to keep things as user friendly, useable, instantly inspiring, and simple as possible.
GS-2018 is a Kontakt library created of 100% analog synthesizer sounds. A vintage analog mono-synth was sampled across the keyboard (for each oscillator), and the common analog synthesizer controls were modeled in Kontakt. You can choose your oscillators, detune them, pan them, mix them, saturate them, and even add noise. We included two ADSR’s, a selectable LFO, a LPF, a HPF, delay, reverb, vibrato, and a custom scripted dual sequencer synced to your DAW clock tempo.
