    KRock | July 21 2012 | 39 MB

    Ensoniq was founded in the early ’80s by some engineers from Commodore. Ensoniq’s first product, a software drum machine, was aimed at the home computer market. One of Ensoniq’s co founders, was responsible for designing the Commodore 64’s three-voice synth chip. In 1982 he designed a portion of a PC that was similar to the sound synthesizer that ended up in the Amiga. It was this chip, the ‘Q chip’, that was used in the Mirage, the world’s first affordable sampler and the ESQ-1, Ensoniq’s wavetable synthesizer. Later came the MR and ZR workstations. The Ensoniq MRKontakt library contains the Urban Dance and Real World sound sets that were popular in both the keyboard and rack hardware. The mixture of world ethnic and urban street sounds is very unique.

    FK14 Hammond AutoVari 64 V.4.2 KONTAKT

    TEAM MAGNETRiXX | 23 August 2014 | 4 MB

    The Forgotten Keys FK14 Kontakt instrument is based on the 2nd incarnation of the Hammond AutoVari 64 rhythm unit from the early 1980s. The official model number was 101300 and it replaced the 101100 model. They were very similar in function, but the later model was very different inside and added a rhythm break feature as well as a programmable variation mode. The design of the unit gives the game away that it was meant to sit on top of a home organ. Indeed, this unit was also built into several Hammond organs from that period. The sounds were very distinctive with a rich bass drum and a nice snappy snare. The cowbell sound was surprisingly realistic for the time which may account for why it was so loud and pops up in the most unlikely of places! The “64” in the name refers to the 64 rhythm patterns available (16 main rhythms with 4 variations), while “AutoVari” refers to the way these variations could be stepped through automatically every so many bars.

    Satellite KONTAKT WAV

    …::: Rare Analog Synthesizer :::…

    The Satellite was a rare and less known Moog synthesizer from the mid 70s. It’s a monophonic preset synthesizer with one VCO and limited modulations. It was used mostly as an add-on for electric organs, in fact, the US company Thomas Organ bought the license to build it. Preset sounds include brass, reeds, strings, and other sounds. As many keyboards of that time, the Satellite is not properly tuned along all the keys (especially at the ends) so we included two versions: tuned and untuned.

    The instrument consists of a pair of hand drums.The right hand drum is called a tabla and the left hand drum is called a dagga or baya . Playing technique involves extensive use of the fingers and palms in various configurations to create a wide variety of different sounds and rhythms.Tabla is tuned manually by hitting hammer on the rim. Tabla is the only percussion instrument in the world which has a spectrum consisting of five harmonics with four overtones. The unique feature of the ‘syahi ‘ or the black spot in the middle of the dayan and in the side of bayan is responsible for the wide variety of syllables .In 1920 the great scientists C.V. Raman and S. Kumar called it ‘Psycho acoustics’ Common strokes such as “Ta”, “Tin”, and “Na” are strongly pitched resonant strokes ( Tuned manually by Tabla Player) whereas “Tun” is one note higher than pitched note. Tun is a resonant stroke of the right hand. The head is not muted at all but allowed to resonate freely. The head is struck in the center of the syahi with the index finger of the right hand.The Tabla-dayan is not the only drum with a pitch: the bayan also has a pitch. Tabla Player apply pressure on the left drum Membrane to Produce different -different slides and pitches whereas Right Drum produce resonant and non-resonant strokes. So basic Sounds can be produced from left drum , right drum and combo drums.
