Recreated sound of Burning Pianos with strings artifacts. Perfect for cinematic music. In September 2012 we recorded six detuned pianos, then destroyed them with a crossbow, bow, ax and fire, resulting in an incredibly cinematic sound. As a result – integration of these impulses gives a special touch to the overall sound. Each instrument has been pre-recorded – to achieve clean detuned tone of each piano. Our goal was to record a clean sound impulses from crossbow bolts, arrows and air rifles. As a result – integration of these impulses gives a special touch to the overall sound.

Cracklefield is an advanced generative sequencer for Kontakt featuring cellular multi-directional and interactive patterns which can create wonderfully unique musical phrases and rhythms. Cracklefield is a unique, generative music machine, inspired by cellular automatons and early videogames. I wanted a sequencer where sequence elements could interact with each other, creating a dynamically evolving patterns. The sequencer in Cracklefield is using a grid, two-dimensional cellular space called the field. The field can be read or modified by cursors, serving as a sequence track playing position. In the basic sequencer you have several tracks, each having its own one dimensional space, which can be read forward or backward. In Cracklefield all tracks are sharing the same two-dimensional space, each track being represented by a cursor. Cursors can travel in any direction, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, each at it’s own rate. They can can be set to bounce off field edges or obstacles, here named ‘walls’. The fun part is that cursors can bounce off each other.

Orchestra Enigmatica is an instrument based on samples from vintage analog “orchestral” synthesizer, Siel Orchestra from 1979 (first version). There are some additional voices created with 1984 Sequential Circuits Six-Track. The instrument has 16 voices, which can be processed individually by adding filters, effects and modulators and then combined to create new sounds. The samples are fairly detailed to preserve quirks of an ageing synthesizer. Sustained sounds have been looped by hand, without crossfading to preserve the original vibe.

The Modernist Xylophone is part of a series of instruments aimed at providing beautiful simple interfaces that match beautiful, simple, and useful audio sampling. We have carefully sampled our Xylophone, with a classic articulation and then added three additional sample sets that use innovative different approaches to playing the instrument: rubber mallets, felt-covered mallets and brushes. We’ve included an innovative approach to delay, using our micro-delay engine, to allow easy development of trilled, and sustained sounds and added a warmth and colour controls to allow colouration of the final output. Finally we added two convolution reverbs dedicated to room spaces to place the instrument in a realistic environment. The Modernist Xylophone comes with 20 snapshots to get you started.
