Bring ancient culture to your music… Voices of the Aztecs is a full compilation of Aztec instruments, loops and vocals. These samples were recorded in Mexico from archeological artifacts. From the big Huehuetl drum to the smallest of Ocarinas, all of the sounds are unique. Water drums and wooded percussion, clay flutes and the incredible sound of the sea shell horn all remind us of a distant culture that disappeared 400 years ago. Voices of the Aztecs also includes Nahuatl poems recited by Santos de la Cruz, a poet of Aztec descent. The only authentic collection of indigenous Aztecs sounds ever published! Very unique, haunting and beautiful! Instruments found in an archeological dig were meticulously sampled and made into virtual instruments.

Deconstructed Piano: the name explains itself. We have disassembled a piano to its soundboard and have worked on this in many different ways: we have played, hit, stroke and destructed the piano with a wide range of materials. We have used a regular piano hammer, different kinds of mallets such as a felt or a wollen ones, screws, plecs, sticks, thumbs and even straws to coax new inspirational harmonic sounds from the instrument. The piano patch is the basic instrument. It delivers three different sound categories with eleven piano sounds in total. By dragging, you can control the volume of each sound. It gives you the possibility to combine and create your own instrument setting. Besides an attack and decay slider, the instrument provides a button that randomizes the volume of each of the 11 sounds which results into new sound combinations. The patch also includes an FX section in which you are able to choose reverb, delay, distortion and an EQ.

Aztec Death Whistle is a deeply sampled folk wind instrument that captures the dark soul of the ancient Aztec death whistle, a ceremonial clay resonator used during human sacrifice rituals and warfare at the height of the Aztec (historically also known as the Mexica) empire in Central America, during the 14 and 15th centuries AD in what has now become modern day Mexico. This whistle — technically grouped into the same family of whistles as bird and animal call whistles — is made of kiln-fired clay. It has two chambers which create air cavities that are resonated by blowing into the top of the skull. It produces a harsh, raspy atonal vocal sound very much like a dying breath, but with a shrill demonic essence that is certain to evoke dread on an almost instinctive level. It is the sound of death incarnate.
