In collaboration with Zilla cabs we created a tool aimed to solve one of these issues. Introducing GGD Studio Cabs: Zilla Edition. Extracting the best sounds from Zilla’s lineup of cabinets, using a carefully curated selection of microphones and speakers we distilled all these sounds into an intuitive design, allowing you to make immediate changes in colour with the freedom to mix, combine and blend tones, creating your own unique palette of sounds.

A deep dive into the legendary studio staple of our time, famed for its smooth top end, rich mid-range, and tight low-end. The perfect cab for heavily distorted guitar tones. Using a carefully curated selection of microphones and speakers we distilled all these sounds into an intuitive design, allowing you to make immediate changes in color with the freedom to mix, combine and blend tones, creating your own unique palette of sounds.

Impulse response files are provided in Wave Audio Format (.wav), and have been minimum phase transformed using a proprietary algorithm.

Cabinet and Speaker Type: The 412 RECT Essentials wave audio format impulse response library is based on measurement data from and seeking to recreate the sound of a MESA/Boogie® Rectifier® Standard (Oversized) 4×12 closed back cabinet loaded with 2003 Celestion® T4335 Vintage 30 speakers. This particular combination – largely the result of the unique tonality for this narrow space in time of this speaker model’s production – results in a sound that is full yet tight in the lows, authoritative and forward in the mids, and smooth on top, with just enough bite to cut through a dense modern mix when paired with the right mic/mix selection. The lack of overly whomping low end and harsh high end makes this file set incredibly versatile, and useful for a multitude of styles and applications.
