apQualizr2 is an audio plugin based on a multiband equalizer layered on top of a fre- quency analyzer with elements of a modular effects system. It features graphical editing of top quality low latency filters and modular modulation of various filter parameters. It can be used for all standard EQ applications and can produce many modulation and dynamics effects thanks to the dynamics and lfo modules included. apQualizr2’s filters are based on a unique method to match ideal frequency response curves over the entire frequency spectrum while maintaining minimal latency. Applicable filter types have adjustable steepness (adjustable number of poles) and can be individually switched to Mid-Side processing.

Much time and effort went into making sure that the end results were faithful to the classic sounding hardware, which was sold with several phonograph consoles back in the 1950’s. For the main portion of this library, the EQ, it was sampled in 3 different hardware setups, for 3 different flavors. The ‘bass’ knob mostly acts as an adjustable high pass, and ‘treble’ as a shelf. Together they can also be used to create ’tilt-like’ eq setups (check the freq response graphs in manual to see what’s possible). The filter FX side of the library is a (nice) bonus.

Gyrator X, a next-generation equalizer plugin built on a fundamentally different approach to digital signal processing. Designed by physicist and mastering engineer Oliver Gretz, Gyrator X moves beyond traditional DSP techniques by modeling the actual electrical behavior of analog circuits—delivering a level of realism, responsiveness, and musicality rarely achieved in the digital domain. At the core of Gyrator X is a physics-based, component-level emulation of gyrator circuits—electronic structures that emulate inductors without their physical limitations. This approach allows the plugin to reproduce the dynamic interactions, and tonal depth found in classic analog equalizers, while maintaining the flexibility and precision of a modern digital workflow.

The sound of forgotten home movies, reimagined for your DAW.

A digital audio workstation screen displays a plugin interface designed to look like a retro VHS player. The plugin has controls labeled ‘Preamp,’ ‘Wow,’ ‘Flutter,’ ‘Noise,’ and more, with waveforms and multitrack recordings visible in the background. VHS Home Video Flavor Box authentically captures the sonic fingerprint of real VHS playback. Gritty flavorful saturation, limited dynamics, and an unmistakably, era-specific tone, paired with the subtle noise and mechanical quirks that defined the sound of home video.

The Telsie S is a 3-band equalizer plug-in based on the famous Siemens W295b discrete class A equalizer from the 1970s. The W295b is known for its wonderfully airy highs and voluminous bass. Telsie S delivers this sound, along with some very useful upgrades compared to its analog counterpart! Designed and built for the ARD (Association of German Public Broadcasters) in the 70´s, the Siemens mixing consoles reflected what was technically feasible at the time and were at the cutting edge of technology. These mixing consoles were the direct successor for the tube-based V72/V76 mixing consoles.
