Using a combination of analogue hardware including a stunning new Moog synthesiser, butchered classic breaks and surgically precise drum programming, this sample library carries the raw energy of Goldie’s ‘Terminator’ yet smashes it into the 21st century. Expect to hear half-step beasts, classic rollers, Duke-influenced hat patterns, annihilated amen breaks, raw technical basslines, abstract ambiences and numerous folders of ‘bonus’ material expressing Dexta’s brutal enthusiasm for analogue sound design experiments.
The Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine is the only commercially available synthesizer to use gas-tube oscillators as the fundamental sound source. This technology predates most of the recognized synthesis advancements of the 20th century, and was abandoned in favor of integrated circuits. The waveforms generated by these gas-filled wonders of yesterday are a beauty unto themselves – wildly variable, inherently unique, and filled with atmosphere. At the helm of this recording is Michael Weeks, who has been involved with the S-1000 Wretch Machine since its inception. Brought to life at Metasonix with help from Michael’s constant prodding to create an integrated rack mount synthesizer, and named after his band The Wretch, Michael has clocked more hours behind the wheel of the Wretch Machine than anyone outside of Eric Barbour. The goal of this library is simple: provide the most comprehensive and raw presentation of the heart of the Wretch Machine to sound designers via painstakingly recorded samples of its oscillators. Utilizing a scripted interface in Kontakt 4, we provide basic building blocks for sound designers to truly integrate these incredible waveforms into their studio environment.

The Big Swing Grand for Kontakt 5 was designed to be the best, warmest, cleanest and most importantly, most playable piano sample available. Created by a pianist, “road tested” on gigs and sessions, much effort and many innovations went into this project. Weighing in at nearly 10GB of 24-bit samples (uncompressed) this is one of the most deeply-sampled piano libraries available.
Drumkit From Hell aka DFH was originally created to address own needs for better and heavier drums in musicproduction. As a result the Toontrack productionteam decided to record a drumlibrary with the best musicians and producers available in Swedish heavy metal. Little did they know what they had started. Drumkit From Hell was awarded 5 of 5 in Sound on Sound and an EQ Magazine Exceptional Quality award and launched Toontrack Music and the DFH brand in a major way into the sample business enabling the development of the Superior and EZdrummer samplers. To celebrate and signify the importance of Drumkit From Hell Toontrack has decided to re-release it as an EZX expansion pack for EZdrummer.
