ABBEY ROAD | 60s DRUMS is the first of Native Instruments’ collaborations with Abbey Road Studios London. This KONTAKT Instrument delivers expressive acoustic drums that combine detailed realism with flexible and nuanced control. Containing no emulations or acoustic modeling of any kind, this instrument consists entirely of high-quality samples of two vintage kits – beautifully recorded with period equipment in Abbey Road’s legendary Studio Two. The sound of ABBEY ROAD | 60s DRUMS can be easily molded from within the instrument itself, going from vintage to modern and taking in all points between.

ABBEY ROAD | 50s DRUMMER delivers the electrifying sound of the birth of popular music – a time when amplified instruments rose to prominence and drums came into their own. Expertly recorded, ultra-rare drums deliver an evocative, mid-heavy sound ready to compete with the latest electric guitars and basses. Adding its own touch of classic style to the DRUMMER Series, 50s DRUMMER also features period-authentic grooves, capturing the flair of early rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country, and jazz. All drums were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, UK. An iconic symbol of the music industry since 1931, Abbey Road has been the location of countless landmark recordings by artists such as The Beatles, U2, Kate Bush, Oasis, Kanye West and Radiohead, to name just a few. Abbey Road has pioneered many studio techniques and technologies, and is widely recognized as one of the most advanced recording, mixing and post-production complexes in the world. Their expertise was crucial in creating the period-accurate recording paths that form the core of ABBEY ROAD 50s DRUMMER’s sound.
HEAVY’s drum kits were recorded with great attention to detail and love for the genre’s specialities. We recorded real drummers’ performances on a delicate selection of sought-after instruments, selected fitting recording rooms with prime acoustical space, and employed only the finest microphones, outboard gear and mixing equipment.
The Modern Metal EZX was recorded by engineer/mixer/producer Will Putney at his own Graphic Nature Audio studios in New Jersey. Featuring five carefully captured kits, each handpicked for their unique tonal qualities, paired with Will Putney’s raw but still sonically immaculate production style, this EZX paints a unique document of hard-hitting, aggressive-sounding drums with a tangible edge, nerve and energy. In addition to the kits and the large assortment of cymbals, extra kicks and snares, the Modern Metal EZX also includes a comprehensive library of presets as well as a selection of MIDI grooves and fills designed for anything from heavy rock to death metal, hardcore and progressive metal. Ultimately, the Modern Metal EZX presents the embodiment of modern metal drums at their finest – fit for anything from hardcore to metal and any subgenre descriptor that may be wedged in between.
