It can be used as a regular channel strip compressor for clean crisp compression & limiting across a wide range of mixing jobs (e.g. adding punch to drum tracks or presence to vocals). For additional flexibility, the sidechain controls (Lo Cut/Hi Cut/Shape) let you customise the compression response.
PressIt is a very sophisticated dynamic tool, best used as a master plugin, or to tighten up bus masters. It works really well on drums, but also background vocals or other stems that need to be tamed will fit well. PressIt consists of three compressors who work independently of each other. They are fed with the low, mid & high frequency band of the incoming audio signal. The compressor units consist of our unique algorithm from Korvpressor, developed together with engineers from KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm. They gently shape the three signals (with full control), and then sums it back into a nice unity. Before the audio leaves the plugin, there’s an optional brick-wall limiter to prevent digital distortion.

It is an effect that is not always sounds too obvious, but when taken away, it’s surely will be missed. A compressor will suppress the loudest part of incoming audio signal, based on the specified threshold. Following the ‘compression’, it will increase the softer signal, narrowing the dynamic range thus delivers a more consistent overall level. And please take note, although this unit is designed specifically for guitar and bass players, you can also use it on any other instruments as well. Well, why not?
The URS Classic Console Compressor Bundle is a suite of 3 Classic Console Compressor plug-ins. They feature 48-bit Double Precision Processing and support 192K sampling. While digitally recreating the Classic Console analog Bus Compressor sound, we added modern features and found the compressors to be even more powerful on individual tracks.
