Surreal Strings is a Kontakt interpretation of the Yamaha SS30 string synth (1981). We sampled four variations of Orchestra settings, another sample set with Orchestra off, and a sixth sample set with the Orchestra 1 ensemble preset, set to 75%, passing through a Boss CE300 Super Chorus at 100% wet. The CE300 uses the same BBD circuit as the revered chorus of the Roland Juno 60. This sample set is always available with the other five presets to create anything from subtle blends to an absolute lush-fest.

Ambient White is the first of a linked pair of sound design-based virtual instruments designed to provide composers and producers with a collection of original instruments and textures suitable for all sorts of ambient music. As its name implies, Ambient White covers the lighter end of the ambient spectrum, focusing on beautiful, peaceful, melodic, harmonious, and natural sounds. Ambient Black, the second VI in this series, will cover the opposite end of the ambient spectrum. The vast majority of the sounds used in the creation of Ambient White were derived from organic sources: found sounds and audio recordings subjected to extreme sound design techniques, prepared and/or heavily processed musical instruments, and sounds recorded in natural environments. The few synth sounds that were used were also processed with sound design techniques, and/or combined with various organic sounds and instruments. The end result is a product that combines acoustic, humanistic, and electronic elements to produce and organic-sounding virtual musical instrument.

Desert Tracks – 1.75Gb of exotic, traditional and contemporary rhythm, instrument and full music tracks from across Northern Africa and the Middle East, from countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Iran. The rhythms and music contained in this library are a living tradition that has its roots in the ancient civilisations of the Middle East and North Africa. It echoes the court and folk music of ancient Egypt, Arabia, the Ottoman Empire and Persia. The resulting music traditions are deep and varied, but always evolving as each generation adds its innovations while honouring the forms and work of the past. This complex music often contains ornamentation and overlapping rhythms yet it is woven together into a seamless tapestry of sound. Authenticity to the rhythms and music of the individual countries has been paramount in the creation of this collection whilst maintaining a modern feel.

House Vocal Session is a soulful collection of Dance vocals, with over 1.5 GB of Acapellas, Hooks and Short Phrases recorded and arranged at tempos of 120, 125 and 126 BPM. The collection features 12 full vocal tracks, with separate audio stems for Chorus, Lead, Harmony, Hooks and Ad Libs… plus a bonus selection of over 200 extra hooks, short phrases and vocal hits. The Vocals in this outstanding collection were written and arranged by Sheree Hicks, who, after signing to Def Jam in the mid-90’s, has been an ever-present force in the music business for over 20 years. During that time, she’s written for Blackstreet/Teddy Riley, Heavy D, C & C Music Factory, and more. She has performed with Ray J, Brandy Dave Hollister, in Japan for MTV, and the list goes on. Sheree has an extensive catalogue and has written in just about every genre of music, from R&B, to Hip-Hop, to Pop, Gospel, and more recently House, with the likes of Terry Hunter and Josh Milan from Blaze. Recorded in Chicago using a Focusrite Blue 315 pre-amp, high end EQ’s and Neumann U87 microphone, this all analog signal chain ensures warm, crisp vocals which will fit easily into the mix.
