Vintage Electric RnB is an homage to the great electronic soul and R&B dance music of the mid 80s with tempo ranging from 80bpm to 115bpm. It was created by the musical genius that is Davor Devcic. Davor has produced some of our best-selling libraries such as Classic Disco, Satin Grooves and Brazil Chillout and has again pulled out all the stops here. 1GB of material and 440 samples are included in 22 construction kits. Vintage Electric RnB takes inspiration from the gigantic names, huge and electrifying sound and big songs of the mid-and-late 80s, the era of massive electric funk and soul hits by Jam & Lewis, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Alexander O’Neal, etc. when there was a fascination with rhythm machines, analog and digital synths, energetic rhythms and lush harmonies. Each kit has been painstakingly created using real instruments from the era to give all the sounds that authentic vintage feel. Each song, although amazingly reminiscent of the sounds of the time, is a totally original creation that stands up on its own as a work of art. This is a truly inspirational library.
Several decades ago (1985 to be precise), a certain Japanese manufacturer released their JX8P which did ok. A year or so later, they brought out their JX10P quickly followed by the rack mount MKS70 ‘Super JX’ MIDI module… Fabulous synths and up there with the company’s legendary Jupiter 8. Ok … this new breed used digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs). Nothing to concerned about – not digital oscillators but analogue just controlled digitally for better tuning stability … but otherwise all analogue through and through. And it sounds mighty. We’ve extensively multi-sampled the raw waveforms from subsonic, clicking lows to tweeter worrying highs and the samples are long – up to a minute each for some – so that they can breathe. The waveforms are quirky which add to the character of the original instruments as well as the sample set.
