Tubular Bells is a complete, full range set of Musser made Tubular Bells, sampled extensively and ready to drop into the Noiiz Player. These solid steel tubes add a colour unlike any other percussion instrument, with a decay tail that could almost linger for eternity and a juxtapositional tone that can range from celestial and angelic to haunting and demonic The instrument also includes a set of bass chimes, offering an extended range and some really interesting additional tones. Recorded by the Noiiz Content Team at Skinny Farm Studios with a pair a Neumann U87’s, the detail of the instrument is instantly apparent. The chimes are struck on the top edge with a plastic-headed hammer tipped with felt, which gives a great attack on those louder notes, adding real impact.

We took a journey back to the Golden Age of magnetic tape recording. We wanted to recreate all kinds of tape machines in software, from the ground up. After many months spent on research, measurement and on developing an architecture that would be flexible enough for the job, we knew we had nailed it… But we couldn’t stop there: We added the old noise-reduction systems that were often (mis)used for timbral compression effects.
