BFD Vintage Recording Techniques is an expansion pack for BFD3 that uses a variety of vintage microphone techniques to capture a beautiful Ludwig Classic Maple drum kit. The result is a selection of familiar, authentic vintage sounds suitable for rock, pop, blues and more. Our engineers used world renowned drum recording techniques including ORTF, Glyn Johns, and Blumlein. Direct microphones were expertly placed on all kit pieces to ensure the pack has a wide range of mixing possibilities and can deliver authentic drum sounds from vintage to modern.

BFD Oak Custom is an expansion pack featuring a stunning Yamaha oak drumkit for your BFD3, BFD Eco or BFD2 installation. BFD Oak Custom’s toms are played with sticks, mallets and hotrods for extra versatility and the kick is played with 2 beater types. The sounds are full of body and devastating low end and also include a reduced-detail Yamaha bamboo snare from BFD Signature Snares Vol.1 and even bonus samples of the original Yamaha drum cases being struck. BFD Oak Custom is recorded in similar studio conditions to BFD Percussion, other FXpansion Yamaha-based expansions such as BFD Jazz Maple and the Mapleworks kits in BFD3.

BFD Modern Drummer Snare Selects is an expansion providing 12 premium and boutique snares for your BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 installation. The included snares were all awarded ‘Snare Drum of the Month’ status by Modern Drummer magazine and represent some of today’s most cutting-edge metal and wood shell designs. Recorded with expressive detail levels, the instruments are all provided in snares-on versions along with selected alternate sounds with brushes, rods, hands and with snares off. When used in BFD3 and BFD2, an additional ‘rim click’ articulation is available as well as a ‘half-edge’ articulation for use with electronic drum positional sensing.
