Largo 2 is the software synthesizer with Waldorf DNA. A fully-fledged Waldorf synthesizer for your virtual rack. The UI has been redesigned and now enables continuous scalability. Whether you use a 5K monitor or the FHD screen of your laptop, whether viewing in full size or as a small status display – the plug-in always remains in focus. 3 fat oscillators per voice (two of them with sub oscillators) with classic waveforms and 68 Wavetables taken from the legendary Microwave and Wave synthesizer and also the Q and Blofeld – 2 independent multimode filters – up to 4 layers per sound and 4 stereo outputs. We have added a variety of three formant filter types which mimic the frequency response of the human vocal tract. By using the cutoff parameter you can morph between the vowels a-e-i-o-u for all your favourite choir and voice-like modulations.
This plug-in models British-made preamps, compressors, equalizers, and transmitters. It models multiple actual units, including vintage units, recent units, and modified units, and can be used in combination with them. Model N Channel is not just modeling the sound of the original preamp, comp, and EQ alone. It features modeling of the sound qualities and tones routed in large recording studios, including sounds through British consoles, cables, bantam patch bays, and even AD/DA, which can add a strong analog texture.
Richter is a tectonic compressor, designed to achieve heavy compression with a minimal amount of artifacts. It is the result of many years of experimenting in the Klevgrand labs. Normally a heavily compressed audio signal gets distorted, often with a nasty “zipper noise” artifact because of how the internal envelope followers are engineered. The experiments led to a brand new approach resulting in a compressor that empowers you to squeeze every bit of sonic perfection out of your tracks. Use it for meaty mixes, punchy drums or smooth, transparent vocal tracks. Due to how the algorithm is designed, there are a few unconventional controls to tame Richter. First of all: one single parameter controls how much compression will get applied. The other (important) parameter controls how the internal envelope follower will react to transients vs continuous/lasting sounds. These two parameters make Richter a highly intuitive compressor where the user quickly will be able to dial in the wanted sound. On top of that there’s a boost switch that literally makes the amount span go to eleven. And, as the name suggests, earthquake levels are possible.
Modnetic offers comprehensive emulation of classic analog tape delay hardware from the 1970’s. In fact Modnetic gives you four powerful effects in one: delay, reverb, modulation and tone. No mere slavish analog emulation, Modnetic also has a few digital twists…
Diffuse is inspired by classic hardware delay and reverb effects from the 1970’s and 1980’s. It takes a Surreal Machines look at the frontier between delays and reverbs. Diffuse is an analog/digital hybrid – an analog modelled delay fused with a classic reverb design used in early digital units. In Diffuse you get more than the best of both worlds – you can morph between delays and reverbs, and find all kinds of fantastical sounds in between the two! You’ll also find plenty of nonlinearities and smooth tape-style delay changes. In Diffuse, all engine parameters are decoupled from the user parameters and simplified into elegant macros to give you complete control over smearing, echoes and damping in the most intuitive way possible.
PHA-979 is useful during mixing sessions, especially when working with the sound material recorded through an array of microphones. In many cases this allows you to solve various phasing problems arising from the microphone placement chosen during the tracking session. In other cases this process may help you to align drums and other instruments to each other bringing punch and time coherence not attainable by the ordinary time-aligning alone.
