Man Var Moo Mojo PRO

NanoBeat | 04 January 2015 | 733 MB

Emulation based on the Manley Vari MU

Manley Labs’ flagship compressor since 1994, the Variable Mu is a tube and transformer-driven classic that exudes hand-made craftsmanship. A gold standard among mixing and mastering engineers, the Variable Mu adds clarity and cohesion to stereo buses or your entire mix. This compressor is well known for it’s warmth. A modern iteration of the Fairchild it makes a great companion for the 670 Mojo Pro sampling. Tubes, tubes, tubes!!!! When FAT, SMOOTH and WARM are what you are after in your VST compressors, look no further – whether it be on individual tracks needing to loose that digital edge or even Master bus mojo to add GIRTH. Works extremely well with the equivalent Slate VBC version which benefits from the mojo of the real thing IMHO. Equally, also works great with the T-Racks 670 version Vintage 670 Compressor.

The W295A equalizer is a real vintage classic. Developed in the 1960´s it is the direct successor of the older passive W95C eQ. This eQ was the first transitorized module in the vintage german broadcast era, transformer-balanced, fully discrete 3-band in class-A quality. The 10kHz Hi-band and the 60Hz Low-band can be cut or boosted by ±15dB. The Mid band is a special tilt-eq. Today it is rare and very hard to find. The unit has been carefully refurbished and calibrated in the AlexB Laboratory before the sampling process.

The Mojo series are samplings to give you the tone of the hardware that allows for a hybrid approach . Simply put, with Eqs and compressors you can use your favourite emulation plugin to control the action and curves and just use my presets to add the much needed clarity, 3D quality, dynamics, warmth etc. It is my attempt to allow you to use your favourite plugin but to add the mojo that plugins lack.
