Convology XT is a free convolution reverb, the result of a collaboration between Impulse Record and Wave Arts. Convology XT comes with 74 vintage impulse responses, a sampling of the 3,556 impulse responses in the Convology XT library. The Convology XT Complete Library is focused on vintage reverb effects. Responses were sampled from 126 different pieces of vintage studio gear from studios all over the world. There are 10 separate libraries: 80s-90s DSP 1 Basic, 80s-90s DSP 2 Classic, 80s-90s DSP 3 Pro, Plates, Springs Bright, Springs Boingy, Springs Warm, Echo Space, Vintage Amps, and Vintage German DSP. The libraries are affordably priced. The Convology XT True Stereo Library consists of 4-channel true stereo impulse responses. There are 2 separate true stereo libraries: True Stereo 1 and True Stereo 2.
Flare is a spectral ensemble effect based on the bucket-brigade delay line. It combines a waveshaper, multi-tap delay and tremolo into a simple musical tool with a ton of features under the hood. Dial in a dreamy chorus reminiscent of classic string machines, a Chebyshev style waveshaping distortion, auto-tremolo, spectral blurring and more. The first processing stage is routed through a Chebyshev waveshaper that creates rich harmonics and distortion. Post-waveshaper, the affected signal can be easily tapered with SWEEP – a filter modeled after the Moog diode lowpass. The audio signal’s adventures have only started though! Next begins the time and space warp paradigm. DEPTH controls a bucket-brigade ensemble effect while BLUR brings smearing across the spectral domain. Space and acousmatic modulators also include REVOLVE, DELAY and SHAKE – panning, echo and tremolo effects, respectively. Flare can do a lot of things with minimal UI controls. Tap into its versatility and pull musical things out of your sounds that you never knew were there.
KORG’s legendary Wavestation introduced the world to Wave Sequencing, transforming raw samples into sounds that no-one had ever heard before. The flagship OASYS and KRONOS keyboards developed Wave Sequencing even further, expanding on its unique palette of lush, evolving pads and driving rhythms. Now, KORG is proud to announce the next step in digital synthesis: the wavestate. Featuring the radically re-imagined Wave Sequencing 2.0, the wavestate delivers astonishing, ever-changing sounds with extensive hands-on control. Far from a nostalgic reissue, the wavestate is designed from the ground up for a new generation of musicians, producers, and composers, taking cues from sources as diverse as modular synths, groove boxes, and algorithmic composition. The compact form-factor, with 37 full-size keys, transports easily and fits neatly into any stage, studio, or desktop setup.
Swarm is a sound design effect inspired by “swarm intelligence” and “particle masses” such as those employed by composer Iannis Xenakis. It clones a segment of a sample and puts those members into a “flock” that disperses in unified – sometimes stochastic – coordination. Swarm excels in creating dense pizzicato clouds or spacey, randomized ambiences. It is a very unconventional effect with unpredictable and oftentimes wonderous results. With some experimenting, sound designers should become acquainted with the character of Swarm and how it can best be utilized in their productions.
Vanisher is a granular audio processor and spatial effect that blurs the lines between the cosmic and the worldly. It takes any sound you feed it, chops it up into microscopic particles and re-configures it in time and space. You can create phase-induced 3D audio effects, granular blurring, glitching and much more.
RC808 is a sample-based emulation of the legendary TR-808. The 808 has been used in tons of Hits during the eighties, among them “Sexual Healing” by Marvin Gaye and “Planet Rock” by Afrika Bambaata and the Soulsonic Force. It’s still widely used nowadays among hip-hop and techno producers. The RC808 is a plugin emulation of the 808 with added functionalities not present on the original machine.
