A harmonic is created by gently touching a string in just the right place to mute the fundamental tone and allow the harmonic, an octave above, to resonate. Glacier Keys takes this concept, typically found in string libraries, and applies it to the Steinway Model D concert grand piano. Through the act of sampling this technique in detail, Glacier Keys allows you to perform harmonics as easily as you would a regular piano – something which would be impractical, if not impossible, to achieve in a live recording. This piano feels natural to play while delivering a glass-like timbre that’s truly unique.
